I’ve only been to hargeisa once in 2018 with my family and it was good. My parents never talked to me about qabil and I’ve only come to know about this as an adult. When I was in hargeisa I was getting treated good my grandfather uncles aunts all of my mums side was great. I don’t support what’s been happening with lascanood in the past few years but what would people think of me if I was to go to somaliland today. Back then there wasn’t as much issues between these two clans.

I know you take the clan from your father and somaliland is majority Isaaq I don’t if the mothers clan has any significance. I love both people and have no animosity to either side because at the end of the day we are all ethnically somali.

Does Dhulbahante get treated badly in somaliland regardless of the mother’s clan and I don’t want a sugarcoated answer. I was planning to go to hargeisa see family and also go lascanood as I have never been before.

Every player always goes for Nike adidas or now new balance but you never see a footballer just say I’m going to make my own company. At the end of the day your the athlete if you get some investors on board you can do it.

Would it be to hard to maintain or you would need to have a lot of knowledge in business world. Footballers probably have people do that stuff for them but I don’t why you never see footballers just deciding to make their own companies.

Whenever someone is trying to improve the country someone always kills them. I remember someone like Hodan left her home in Canada only wanted the best for the somali people and she gets killed. I don’t understand why something like that would happen who is responsible for this. Someone comes from the comfort of the home in Canada and says hey let me do something for my people and they murder her an innocent person.

Now something like that won’t happen because they would fear for their life. You go one step forward Somali people will go 10 steps back. It is impossible for Somalia to change like this you cannot help someone if they don’t want your help.

For example imagine your an athlete and you choose to represent the country trying to give a good image of Somalia, to the world, uplift your people and promote Somali unity. You go to the capital and you get killed in a bomb just like Hodan did.

Look at what the president is doing in Somalia right now I don’t understand how somebody can be like this do you hate your own people.

Another point I want to talk about is why do we always talk about somaliland when we can’t even fix ourselves. If you look at places like Hargeysa it’s way better than Xamar. I’m not a separatist I want all Somalis to be united as one but you can’t say you’re apart of us but you can’t even handle yourself.

I am Muslim but this is something I don’t understand I know you have 3 options convert to Islam pay jizya or die but what if the non Muslim just wanted peace. Let’s say he’s like a farmer and he’s saying bro leave me alone I just want to live my life peacefully he doesn’t want to fight a war but he also doesn’t want his country to be taken away from him. Was the world just like that back then conquer or be conquered. For example there is a group of people that are saying they don’t want to fight the Muslims they don’t cause harm I feel like it would be unnecessary death.

Let me give another example Israel and Palestine everyone knows that the state of Israel was created in 1948 and over time they took the land away from the Palestinians let’s say they didn’t oppress Palestinians and killed them and followed the same rules there are for conquering land in Islam would you still see this as immoral because at the end the day it’s still stolen land you just treat them well.

I know Somalia is the motherland but if you were born outside Somalia and for me only visiting once in my life it’s hard to say it’s your home. It’s where your own people live but for me living my entire life in the Uk I feel more comfortable there. If I was to go to Somalia right now I don’t know the basic things where to buy food transport and these types of things I would need help from family. London I don’t need assistance I know how to work things around.

Somali ethnicity but born and raised in England. Maybe win an Afcon or qualify for a first World Cup for Somalia.

What would you choose?

I’m somali but born and bred in England. My question is if you were a really good player would you play for a team like England or choose Somalia( in my case) to play for and make them good. If you play for Somalia you probably will never win anything because we don’t have a good football team but if you play for England you might win a World Cup but racism and stuff like that.

Your like Messi Ronaldo level type good your 18 years old and you have two options your origins or your birthplace which would you choose. The only reason why I would hesitate to play for England is if the country loses you’ll get the insults because you’re black/muslim. You play for Somalia that will never happen they will respect you we have seen it happen to so many England players especially after euro 2021. You play for Somalia maybe you can inspire the nation into doing good things because the last 30 years hasn’t been good.

Possibly taking Somalia to their first World Cup but you’re probably never going to win it or the country you grew up in England higher chance to win but your probably never might get racial slurs against you. The problem with Somalia is the country isn’t even stable football is the last thing to worry about your in a situation where your kinda forced to choose England but if you grew up in England you know that you’ll never be accepted because your Somali black and Muslim so what do you choose.

Plus the Somali football federation is really corrupt and is a big reason why players choose to play for the country they grew up in. Somalia don’t have the facilities or resources to do well if you were a really talented player you’d be sabotaging yourself. The situation in Somalia aswell isn’t good if you were one of the best players in the world you might be politically exploited and somali people are so divided right now. Do you choose Somalia and try to use football to unite all Somalis as one or do you just choose England making it easier for yourself and just firm the racism that might be directed at you?

I am somali but my question is how do we fight against ourselves when no one 100% comes from one clan. For example my parents are not from the same clan my grandmother from my mum side is from a different clan my mother even told me my great grandmother is from a different clan. I know your clan comes from your dad’s lineage but it’s impossible to be from one clan. You’re literally fighting against your own cousin it’s stupid. It’s like for example if my dads clan and my mums clan got into a fight and I was fighting against my own family again I know lineage comes from your father but it’s still my own family.

I know my family isn’t the only like this or is it just me where your family has multiple clans. If the majority of Somalia is like this then that means in the civil war people where fighting there own uncles/aunties cousins and extended family. If that’s case like wow.

Do you think football shoes can be used as fashion similar to Michael Jordan shoe brand is like the Jordan 1s 4s 11s. How would you see that do you think it’s even possible because the cleats underneath makes it’s hard to just go walking around in. You can walk on concrete with football shoes and even if it is Astro’s football shoes don’t look that good to wear for fashion. What do you think?

For example you’re born in England. Btw the Somali national team is not fully pro some of the players are semi pro and the level is low. If you were the level of Messi you could win the Afcon or maybe qualify for a World Cup making it far into the tournament. It could inspire the somali people. You play for england easier to win and won’t hinder your career

I was just watching the World Cup and every time I do it makes me feel sad to not see my own country there. You might be asking football doesn’t improve the country but it’s not about that it’s about having something good about the country. You go up to somebody and ask them what comes to your mind when you think of Somalia it’s probably going to be bad things. I seriously cannot name a single good thing about Somalia in 2026 not the people but the country. I don’t understand a country that has such great potential self sabotage themselves. A country that’s probably one of the most homogeneous in the word all following the same religion this divided. Countries like Iraq who have different ethnicities and religions in their country were able to qualify to a World Cup and come together. Just 20 years ago they were in the war but people in Somalia are still hung up from the civil war 30 years ago.

Some parts of the country is trying to create a new country and divide themselves. I don’t understand my own people it’s like we like our own country to be shit. People always say be proud of your country and I always will but tbh there is nothing to be proud about. The worst thing is normally when bad things happen you see the light of the end of the tunnel there is no light for Somalia it’s pitch black I’m 22 years and I don’t see Somalia being good in my lifetime I wish I was born 200 years later to see how they country is. Every single time I see anything about Somalia as a country it’s always bad stuff it’s to the point were I don’t even want to see anything to do with Somalia and that’s including somaliland because it will just lead to disappointment. I see my friends looking at their countries in the World Cup and see happened or the olympics 2 years ago and I’m jealous. I understand sports is not going to fix the country it’s about being proud and seeing representation.

Remember like 3 years ago they was a 100m race and Somalia sent this woman who wasn’t even fit to take part I see stuff like and think the people in charge are they stupid do they wake up and think how can I embarrass my country today. Corruption exist all over the world I’m not denying that but at least have pride. If you don’t have pride think of the pride of millions of Somalis around the world

Obviously it’s probably never going to happen but a hypothetical. Football is a sport that’s very political and could be used for the country to unite, something similar happened with didier Drogba with Ivory Coast. Somalia from all parts including somaliland uniting as one to me the only was for the future of Somalis to look bright is to be united.

Like your born in England but your ethnicity is Somali like your parents came here. Playing for England chance to win euros or a World Cup. If one team was to win the champions league like 5 years in a row would you see it as boring. I can’t really express what I want to say but let’s say there was a Chicago bulls dynasty equivalent right now in football and they win also in 94/95 8 years in a row. Let’s say your Somali but born in England you lived your whole life there and your a really talented footballer and you have the option to represent the country of your origin or your nationality what would you pick. If you choose England you have a higher chance to win stuff but your might feel a lil guilty. You pick Somalia it’s cool but they are really bad in football and there is corruption in the football federation. There is also racism in the Uk with politics and stuff so yeah. Where I’m from everyone is saying that it’s the last dance like how Messi did it at the last World Cup but I wanted to know how do Brazilians feel about it is he healthy, do Brazil have a chance to win the World Cup. In my opinion I do think when healthy Neymar is your best player but he’s never healthy. Neymar is like that one friend that doesn’t revise at all but revising a night before the exam and expects to do well. For me Neymar is like that he says he want to win the World Cup but his actions don’t represent that. In the end you can never doubt Brazil they have 5 world cups but what do you think?

I have a question about Robert, I was just watching him play/leave Barcelona and he shows his emotions more at Barca even though he was only there for 4 years but when he was at Bayern not a single but if emotion it was like I’m just here to do my job and go home. He was at Bayern for like 9 years won more trophies and his biggest moments there.

Why do you think that is?
