2–4% is negated by the anti-deadzone setting.

So once again, “PROS” have found a way to get their stick drift and previous aim assist back simply by applying an anti deadzone to their controllers.

It’s so cool to know that just by tweaking one particular setting, players can get better accuracy without actually doing anything else.

At first I was like: Oh that’s cool. Aim assist will only work if the player is actively aiming at all times. Maybe this is actually somewhat fair.

But then, once again, players use third party software to bypass the update.

If there’s a mechanic that can be abused by players, it will be abused…

“competitive integrity“ btw…

p.s. dear controller reader, I have given you info on how to get old AA back. Nobody here is talking about nerfing your precious AA, chill out!

MnK Needs Movement Assist. Hear Me Out! (Satire)

Movement is too hard in Apex Legends and I don’t want to spend hours refining my movement and learning different jumps. And it’s not fair compared to controller players because:

  1. WASD has only 8 possible directions while controllers have more freedom. I also have to use 3 fingers to move around which takes more time to change directions than just pulling a stick with a thumb in an opposite way. It is radically unfair and for that reason I demand a 30% movement assist that will make me 30% faster to compensate for the limitations of the MnK input.
  2. I have to use the same hand to aim and bunny hop during fights which is too hard and limiting since I have to constantly spam mwheeldown and up. So please let me bunny hop easily while just holding my space bar like it works in CS bhop servers.
  3. Tap strafing is too hard to be consistent with since I have to keep track of multiple things: what corner to use, my movement, moving my mouse and using my mwheel. It makes the game too tryhard. So please make it more casual for MnK players by applying tap strafing only if the player is trying to change directions particularly in the air. That W key thingy is too complicated. Just let me do it anyway.
  4. Don’t even get me started on zip lines. It’s too much for me. Just make them simpler so that I can have an advantage over the other input because right now it doesn’t seem like I can use them easily.

Here are my suggestions. Also forgot one more thing: remove dead slides for MnK players already. I want to feel like I am using a movement input at 100% goddammit.

Appreciation for SoloQ

Let’s just take a deep breath and appreciate the way Pred lobbies are being played now.

I love how the games last longer in SoloQ compared to the end of last split, where we had only 2 teams left by the time Ring 2 was closing. Now the game usually lasts until Zone 3 and sometimes even Zone 4. It’s not perfect considering that the three premade Pred squads have basically turned into three random Pred squads, but the game still feels like it’s being played a bit smarter rather than everyone just apeing every team they see.

Hopefully one day we’ll get to a point where every squad has a similar chance to win rather than having high skilled players grouped together against lower skilled players.

I’m actually happy to see that Respawn are making changes. Maybe it should’ve been done a few seasons ago but better late than never.

Let’s hope this test turns out to be a success and that we continue to see more positive changes coming to Apex ranked in the future.

Input Based Matchmaking

I finally reached Masters today and honestly I feel like I have no choice but to quit until Respawn introduces optional MNK only lobbies. At this point I’m trying to preserve my nervous system.

I want to clarify upfront: I am not asking to nerf controllers or remove aim assist. I am simply advocating for an optional, input-based matchmaking queue where MNK players can choose to play strictly against other MNK players.

I believe that 80%+ of the player base uses a controller so letting MNK players have their own queue shouldn’t significantly affect controller queue times. I also think most MNK players are so tired of getting one clipped that we’d gladly accept longer queues.

Here’s how the usual debate goes:

“Controllers need aim assist because MNK players have their whole arm to aim with, can move while looting and can tap strafe.”

  1. Aim assist has no reaction time.

At close range, where most fights happen (unless you’re playing extremely passively) it takes very little adjustment/aiming to kill. The advice I constantly hear from good controller players is to make small corrections, aim mostly with your left stick and let aim assist do the work.

  1. Tap strafing isn’t an MNK exclusive advantage anymore.

It took me less than two minutes to Google “how to tap strafe on controller 2026,” and I found several YouTube videos with 20k+ views. If that many people are watching tutorials it’s probably not that uncommon especially in Master and Predator lobbies.

  1. Controller players are also known to hide cheats behind aim assist.

I’m not an expert, but I’ve heard plenty about devices like Cr**us Z** and Ti**n. As far as I know, these are primarily designed for controllers and consoles, adding even more assistance on top of aim assist.

Whenever I get deleted in half a second and then spectate a controller player standing perfectly still while safely looting my death box, I can’t help but think that’s a pretty small trade off for having a software help with aiming. The worst part is that I often can’t even tell whether they’re cheating or just using aim assist because from my perspective it looks exactly the same: get close, pull out the R-99, one clip.

One of the most common responses is, “If controller is so OP, why isn’t every controller player Predator?”

My answer is simple: the overwhelming majority of Predators are already on controller. (I believe its 88%+ of Preds are rollers)

I’m not asking for aim assist to be removed. I’m not asking controller players to be nerfed. I just want an optional input based matchmaking queue where MNK players can choose to play against other MNK players.

I think everyone would be happier with that!

P.S. Before someone says, “MNK players cheat too” at least I can usually tell the difference between an aimbotter and a genuinely cracked MNK player by spectating them. With controller it’s often impossible for me to know where aim assist ends and cheating begins.

P.S.S. To everyone who’s about to comment “Skill issue” you’re probably right. I’m a noob. So why not let me play against other MNK noobs instead of feeding me to controller players?

P.S.S.S. I'm to tired to find the links to the "stats", but I hope there will be people in comments who can help you with that
