Rhode Islanders for Personal Privacy are holding an informational meeting this Wednesday, May 20th regarding Flock cameras and their invasion of our Right to Privacy

Hi all,

The meeting from a few weeks ago was a success. People are interested in understanding how their Right to Privacy is being eroded in the digital era we are living in.

So, we are hosting another informational session that will discuss the concerns with Flock cameras and what we can do about it.

When: This Wednesday, May 20th @ 5:45

Where: Knight Memorial Library, 275 Elmwood Ave, Providence, RI

Our website is now up and running. Though it's still very basic, you can head over there to signup for the mailing list to stay up to date with events and meetings as we try to protect our privacy on the Internet and in the digital age. www.RIPersonalPrivacy.org

We hope to see you there!

Just wanted to provide a big THANK YOU to the r/providence community for coming out last Wednesday to our meeting on Flock cameras. Special thanks to u/zymurgtechnician for helping to spread the word!

People truly care about their digital rights and privacy on the internet. It is a human right that we must protect in both the physical and digital realm. As we organize, our voices will only become stronger as we attempt to fortify and enshrine these protections.

It's still a bit bare bones and early but we now have a website that people can visit to stay up to date with meetings and activities. You can also sign up for our mailing list there to start getting involved and to take action. Hope to see you around!

EDIT: If you'd like to get involved TODAY, MAY 2nd, we will be flyering at the May Day rally in Dexter Park. Meet at 1PM on the corner of Parade and Oak St. at the park
