I'm trying to understand what I'm missing. My Short is 37 seconds long, and the analytics show:
81% chose to watch (19% swiped away)
36-second average view duration (99.4% retention)
Around 300 likes and 9 comments
I thought these were good metrics, but it stopped at around 26k views. Is there something else YouTube looks at besides retention? What would you improve or test next??

I'm 20 years old and I live in Pretoria South Africa. I know this is a long shot, but I thought I'd ask anyway.
I've been wanting to start streaming and making gaming content for a while now. It's something I'm genuinely passionate about and I'd love to try turning it into a career one day. The problem is that I don't have a job at the moment, so buying a PS5 is way out of my budget.
I'm not trying to force anyone or expect anything for free. I just thought if there's anyone out there who's able and willing to help me get closer to my goal, whether by contributing towards a PS5 or even giving me advice, I'd be incredibly grateful.
