How to pivot from an English PhD to corporate market research without any experience?

Hey everyone,

I'm almost 29 and about to finish my PhD in English Lit (did my BA and MA in it too). I've reached a point where I realize academia and teaching just aren't for me at all.

I want to pivot entirely into the corporate world.

I am really interested in market analysis, consumer behavior, research, and the psychology behind how people think.

The problem is I can't afford to do an MBA right now due to my age and other commitments.

Since my entire background is purely academic, I honestly know absolutely nothing about how the corporate world works. I am starting from ground zero and have no idea how any of this operates.

I am hoping you guys can help me figure this out:

What exact job profiles or titles should I even be searching for?

Where and how do I look for my first job in this field?

What specific skills or tools should I start learning right now to make myself employable?

I'd really appreciate any advice or reality checks, especially from anyone who has made a similar jump from academia or a non-corporate background into the corporate sector. Thanks!
