We worked extremely hard over last week and confirmed about 80 additional hospitals and added in our directory. Along these include U of Michigan Health, Jefferson Health (13 locations), UC San Diego Health etc. Most of these locations started the low-dose radiation therapy for arthritis program over last year. Pls visit our site if you need to find a hospital nearby. radiantjointalliance.org
If you know a hospital/clinic is offering low-dose radiation treatment for arthritis, please let us know. We will verify and add to our directory after confirmation. If you discover any inaccuracies please let us know as well. Thanks.
Hi everyone. I run Radiant Joint Alliance, a registered nonprofit organization focused on patent education about low-dose radiation therapy (LDRT) for osteoarthritis and degenerative joint conditions.
We have been working on community outreach and have shared education materials with more than 3,000 organizations, including senior centers, libraries, YMCAs, and other community organizations. We also maintain a directory of hospitals and clinics offering LDRT.
We are now looking for volunteers who would like to help with community service and outreach.
The volunteer work is straight forward and will be done in your local community. Volunteers may help identify community organizations, share educational materials, or help with outreach. This could be a particularly good opportunity for high school students interested in healthcare, science, or community service. It gives a chance to learn how community outreach works, communicate with organizations, and see how a health-related nonprofit operates beyond the classroom. This is not a paid position.
If you are interested, you can learn more about Radiant Joint Alliance and the volunteer program here:
https://www.radiantjointalliance.org
No fixed schedule, no minimum hours required, you work at your own pace and whenever your schedule allows. Community service hours may be possible and depends on your school policy and approval process. We can provide documentation of volunteer participation when appropriate.
I’m happy to answer questions about what the volunteer work involves.
Hi everyone,
I’m a high school student who built Radiant Joint Alliance, a patient education website about low-dose radiation therapy, or LDRT, for osteoarthritis and degenerative joint disease.
One part of the project is a nationwide directory of hospitals and radiation oncology practices that offer LDRT. It currently includes about 270 locations across 46 states, but I’m sure there are centers I’ve missed, especially when the treatment is not listed clearly on their websites.
If you know of a hospital or radiation oncology practice in the U.S. that offers LDRT for osteoarthritis or degenerative joint disease, please share the name and location. I’ll verify each suggestion before adding it.
I’m also glad to correct or remove any listing that is outdated or inaccurate.
The directory is at radiantjointalliance.org.
Thanks for your help.
I’m a high school student in New Jersey, and for the past year I’ve been researching low-dose radiation therapy, or LDRT, as a treatment option for some people with osteoarthritis.
LDRT has been used in parts of Europe for decades and is now offered at a growing number of U.S. hospitals. Several studies suggest that it may reduce pain and improve function for some patients, although the evidence is still developing and it may not be appropriate for everyone.
What surprised me most was how difficult it was to find clear, balanced information about the treatment. Many people with osteoarthritis have never heard of LDRT and may not realize it is an option they can discuss with their physician.
To help improve awareness, I created Radiant Joint Alliance, a patient education website with an interactive map of U.S. hospitals offering LDRT, a walkthrough of what treatment involves, and information about what the research does and does not show.
You can view it here: https://radiantjointalliance.org
I’m not selling a treatment or receiving money from any hospital. This is an independent, student-led awareness project, and the website is not a substitute for medical advice.
I would genuinely appreciate feedback from people with osteoarthritis, caregivers, or healthcare professionals. What questions would you want a patient education resource like this to answer?
Also, if you know of a U.S. hospital offering LDRT that is missing from the map, please let me know. If this resource is helpful, I’d appreciate an upvote so more people living with osteoarthritis can find it. Thank you.
