I've noticed several concrete (I think) blocks with NYPD printed on them, placed on the sidewalks of 76th, 78th and 79th Streets recently. I thought they were temporary for the soccer watch party last week, but they're still present.
Has the NYPD said what these are for, to anyone's knowledge? Are they permanent?
I got offered a weird laptop today, so I remembered that last year, right around the beginning of July, I was offered many laptops.
Today’s was from a no-name brand and features a 5 year old Intel processor, but since I haven’t gotten much lately I’m going to take a flyer. It might make a decent media server once I put Linux on it, but will be decent for scrounging parts unless everything is soldered down.
Anyway, if you’re at Gold Level, keep your eyes on your RFY. Last years stuff was probably a post- Computex promo, since all the laptops were Taiwanese, but with Prime Days over, who knows what this year will bring.

Posters often ask when statistics get updated and what happens in the first week of a new evaluation period.
Since my evaluation ended June 1, I have no orders and one review submitted for an item I ordered the previous period. Last week the insightfulness score was poor, this week it is excellent, with no additional review nor ordering activity.
Only posting this as a data point that some might find informative, since much about Vine is undocumented.
Just a heads up, as many people have posted questions regarding ordering things near the end of their evaluation.
I was at 92% before my evaluation, with two items scheduled to be shipped after my evaluation date. Amazon marked them as shipped during the 32 hours it took for my evaluation to complete.
One item arrived during the evaluation, but I didn't get a chance to complete testing, and the other is scheduled to arrive tomorrow.
When the evaluation was completed, my stats showed as 90% reviewed.
Still made it, but just be careful to do the math when ordering things near the evaluation period.
If you can beat this with a longer period between ordering and delivery, I sympathize with you.
With my evaluation a couple of days away and no products expected any time soon, I found a mysterious package today. It was tea that I ordered in December 2024 and that had been marked "No longer available" and is currently out of stock!
It arrived today with an expiration date of September, 2026, so it still should be OK, but I'm a little leery.
Decide to stop ordering because your evaluation is 10 days away!

So I always say that I will never get another Dyson product since the vacuum cleaner and headphones I got were both overpriced junk, even after getting them at steep discounts.
Lo and behold I see a pre-release Dyson Stick vacuum this morning in my RFY on my phone. I'm thinking to myself, no, don't do it! Then I find myself clicking on the "See details" button anyway.
Absolutely no self-control!
Then the endless circle pops up and I have no chance of even seeing the ETV to talk myself out of it! By the time I get to a PC, it's gone.
