Looking for a first-time checking account bank.

Hello everyone. I came here to ask for advise. I'm a recent graduate and looking for my first real bank to open an account with before I get my first job. I live in Illinois, USA.

I wanted to bank with Discover like my parents, but I discovered they were aquired by Capital One Bank and I can't open an account with them without traveling several states away to provide private information. Does anyone know of any first-timer friendly banks in Illinois? Preferably one with near-immediate card-usage notifications.

I also won't use First Financial Bank because they took a week to notify a card's usage to withdraw a large sum when my parents used them.
