1. Does KU organize a group application for Alien Registration Cards (ARC), or should I book an individual immigration appointment via HiKorea as soon as my visa is issued?
2. What is the smoothest way to get a local number and set up a bank account before the physical ARC arrives (for food delivery, transit, and campus services)?
3. What apps are mandatory for daily survival and campus life around KU (aside from KakaoTalk and Naver Map)?

I'm trying to finalize my housing strategy for my upcoming exchange semester at Korea University.

1. How competitive is it to get a spot in CJ International House or Anam Global House? If you applied right at opening, did you get in?
2. How strict are the dorm rules, and is the social atmosphere worth living on campus?
3. If I don't get dorm housing, what is the easiest/cheapest option for a 1-semester stay?

Any advice on typical monthly costs, deposits, or neighborhoods nearby would be super helpful.

I’m heading to Korea University soon on exchange. My Korean is at a very basic/survival level (working on it, but definitely not conversational yet). I want to make sure I don't just stay isolated or get stuck solely in an expat bubble.

I’d love to hear from past exchange students or current KU students:

1. How active are the KUBA (Buddy Program) groups? Is it the main hub for social life, and does it genuinely facilitate close friendships with local Korean students?
2. Are there specific central clubs, sports groups, or international student associations at KU that are welcoming and accessible to non-fluent Korean speakers?
3. In daily campus life and classes, how open/comfortable are local students with speaking English socially?
4. How easy is it to make friends in general if you don't speak too much Korean?

I’m preparing for an exchange semester at Korea University this spring and I'm trying to understand how course registration actually works for international/exchange students from the USA.

A few specific questions for anyone who has been through it:

1. Exchange Priority: Do exchange students have dedicated quotas for English-taught courses during preferred course registration, or do we compete directly with full-time degree students?
2. Availability: How difficult is it to secure required courses in major departments (I'm interested in Business and Computer Science) taught in English?
3. Manual Overrides / Add-Drop: If a class fills up immediately, what is the realistic chance of getting a professor's signature/permission during the add/drop period?
4. Grading & Rigor: Are English-taught classes graded on an absolute or relative scale for exchange students, and how manageable is the workload?
5. Also, any tips on navigating the portal or building a backup schedule would be greatly appreciated!

I'm a freshman taking BUSI 401 this summer and I can't access it's canvas page. I'm also not a business major yet. Do I need to have a KF email and access the KF specific canvas page or is it on the regular canvas page (from just logging in with ONYEN)?

Hey everyone, I'm thinking of taking PWAD 250 with an unknown professor in fall 26. How easy is that class? I'm only doing it to fufill the FAD gen-ed, and it seemed like a GPA booster. Is it really easy? Are there any professors I should watch out for?

Finals destroyed me this semester. Not all my finals are out yet, but I expect to have a 3.45ish when the dust settles. I'm currently a CS major, and I'm applying to the B-school this summer. Is a 3.45 even a good enough GPA to get in with? I have a lot of good extracurriculars but I only have the CALC and ECON prerecs cause I decided to do b-school in like January.
