Gift Giving - Question for All Therapists

Hello! My therapist is starting her own practice soon and I would like to give her a gift for her new office and as a thank you for continuing sessions with me. I was thinking a fancy pen, nothing crazy expensive, about $40.

My question is, would this be something appropriate to give to a therapist? I did give her a mug for Christmas, but that’s it. Any other ideas on what would be a professional gift? Or should I just hold out and give her a gift for Christmas? Or nothing at all? Thoughts?

Road Rage Incident - Galleria

I was on my way home from the Galleria earlier today when I encountered a road rage incident.

Link is here

Just a reminder to everyone to stay safe out there. Sometimes it’s best to just let it go rather than put yourself and others at risk.

Fear No Evil Drawbacks

Now that FNE is out, for those of you that have played it, what has been your drawbacks?

For me, it’s the amount of time it takes to set up a match. I feel like it’s a tad too complicated and long. After coming home from work and spending time with the family, at the end of the night I have limited time for myself. I just want to quickly set up a villian and scenario and play a few rounds. However, with FNE, I find myself consulting the campaign booklet more often than not because I’m not quite sure how to set up.

To be fair, I’m still new to the campaign box, but my general impression so far is that I had a much easier time accessing previous boxes. I get that FFG is trying their best to replicate scenarios via cards, but I find previous scenarios much simpler to approach. It’s like there’s a slight learning curve with FNE.

Anyway, what are some drawbacks you’ve been experiencing?

P.S.
I’m still enjoying FNE and I do not regret my purchase. I just wish it was much simpler.

ELI5: why does it take so long for some console games to come out on PC when they were made on a computer?

I would think it would basically come down to just copy/paste the code and remapping the controls, but alas…

Recomendaciones Bancarias

Hola.

Claro Out of Service?

Hello. I am trying to register a new account with Claro, but I seem to be having issues. For some reason either the confirmation email does not go to my email address or I receive this message.

Is anyone else having a similar experience here in Guatemala? Maybe it’s just Claro having issues with their service?

Hola.

Why I’m Selling My Collection - A Hot Take

You know, I never thought the day would come where I’d want to get rid of my cards. I typically balk at people posting about selling their cards and the irony is that now I’m one of them.

But I’m not selling my cards because I’m in a financial rut. I’m not selling because I don’t have enough time to play or because I don’t enjoy the game anymore. Quite the contrary.

I’m selling because I like the current environment better than the legacy environment.

Fear No Evil expansion isn’t out yet, but I already love the direction the game is heading. I look at my old cards and it feels like they are outdated. Sure I can still have fun with them, but I find myself looking forward to the future where I can play boxes like Fear No Evil. There’s no reason to expect FFG won’t continue in this direction, so I know after this box I will enjoy whatever is next.

The art style, the hero mechanics, even the improvement on card wording… it all speaks to a renewed effort from FFG I love seeing and looking forward to seeing more of.

I just don’t see myself playing with the legacy cards as much anymore. I rather my cards go to someone who will enjoy them as much as I had.

Am I crazy? Am I riding too much on hopium? Thoughts?

Who Will Be the Next Spider Hero?

With Spider-Man Brand New Day coming out in a few weeks and Spider-Man Beyond the Spider-Verse coming out next year, I think it would be in FFG’s best interest to capitalize on those movies and release at least one additional Spider hero next year.

My guess is that it’ll be around the time of next year’s Spider-Man movie as that movie features a multitude of different Spider heroes.

Regardless, another Spider hero is coming out at some point, so my question is: who do you think it’ll be?

I want it to be Spider-Man 2099 so bad, but if FFG continues the street level theme, perhaps it’ll be Anya Corazon or Spider-Noir. I can see the latter happening since the hero has a well received television show AND is featured in next year’s Spider-Man movie.

Anywho, those are my guesses. What’s yours?

37 [M4A] Looking for a Fellow Artist

I’ve met several people from here, so hoping lightning strikes (thrice?).

This time I’m going to be a bit more specific in my search and if it doesn’t work out, well, then you’ll see me make a more general post 😂

Ideally, I’d like to link up with a writer or anyone who is creative (painter, dancer, etc). Someone who is actively working on a project would be best, such as working on a novel, short stories, a book of poetry, a graphic novel, comic, a painting, etc etc. Intentions to do any of what I listed count as well.

I’m a writer myself and have a laundry list of projects I’m working on, but I have no one to encourage me to work on them and finish them. I’ve come to terms over the fact that it will be extremely difficult to complete these projects solely on my own, without any accountability.

Bonus points if you love to read, watch movies and/or television, and just generally love art in all its forms.

I live in the Spring Branch area and would like to meet someone fairly close or about 30 mins away, more or less. I’m off Fridays and Saturdays. Perhaps every other Friday we can meet up and talk in person about our projects? Go to the movies, read a book together, basically seek stuff out to inspire us. I also play video games every now and then.

I’m partnered up and in a long term relationship, so I’m only seeking something platonic.

Gender nor age matters. I don’t care for sexual orientation. I don’t care about ethnicity. Just be a decent person and know how to carry on a conversation. If the conversation is one-sided (only I’m asking questions), I’m simply going to assume there isn’t a connection and move on.

Additional bonus points if you speak Spanish as I am trying to learn.

And last, if this resonates with you, but you don’t quite hit what I’m looking for, but still feel like we will get along, feel free to message.

Hello, everyone. I would like to gift my gf a lab grown diamond silver/diamond anklet. Does anyone have any recommendations where I can start looking for something like this? I'm completely new at purchasing something like this, so not sure where to start and if where I'm looking is reputable or not. My budget is between $800 and $1500. Appreciate the help.

Edit:

Also considering a tennis anklet
