Cut down to a 1.5 for this heatwave outside 🙏🏽

I got my XAX last Saturday and didn’t bother taking it out of the box until Monday night because of the X20 announcement. Once I realized the need to upgrade to the X20 was low, I busted it open. After about 2 hours of updates and 5 “First things to do” videos, I finally installed my first game which was Call of Duty. Since then, I’ve installed Fortnite, Forza Horizon 6, Overwatch, and Expedition 33.

After some minor Armory Crate tweaks and settings optimization, I would rate the way those games run as follows (ratings are all on Turbo, in game max settings, and while plugged in):

Call of Duty: 8.8/10
Fortnite: 10/10
Forza Horizon 6: 9.2/10
Overwatch: 9/10
Expedition 33: Not yet played

To be completely honest, I do not see much drop in performance when the device is not plugged in until it’s below ~40% battery. For all of my game settings optimization I used this website:

In terms of accessories, the first photo shows everything I currently use and plan to keep, the second photo shows everything I originally bought. Additional and not pictured, I bought and returned the JSAUX dock w/ fans and JSAUX Deluxe Travel Case. From the first photo, I also returned the ZAAG screen protector and replaced it with the JSAUX clear one, and returned the Dbrand Killswitch case.

I personally hated the killswitch, not because of the design, but because of the texture in the case itself. It felt more slippery and grainy than the actual XAX. The JSAUX mod case that I replaced it with feels way better, like actually grip, and feels very similar in build quality for less than half the price. Also, I know many people told me to return the Bulwark Dock and just get the JSAUX one, but honestly, I’m just a big ecosystem buyer and you can’t deny that it looks way better than the JSAUX one. I’m prepared to get crucified in the comments for it lol. At the End of the day, I have the money for it, so I bought it.

The GameSir G7 Pro is certainly not a necessity, any regular Xbox controller will do, I just love the customization that you can do with the GameSir controllers and needed a new Xbox controller anyway so I splurged a bit. Side note, I did keep the KontrolFreeks and put them directly on my XAX and it definitely helps a bit for FPS games. The Astro A10 headset is a good budget option but a part of me wishes I had gotten a wireless headset because the cord does get a but annoying at times but the headset does what it needs to.

Any suggestion on games or anything I should try, please let me know. I’ve also been wanting to look into emulation of older PlayStation and Nintendo games so If anyone has experience with that, please comment.

Just got the Xbox Ally X from Best Buy today along with all of these accessories (Bulwark Dock is coming in the mail).

I’ve been made aware of all of the concerns of a new ally model being unveiled tomorrow, I’m going to keep everything sealed until then just in case. Luckily there is a 15 day return window.

Would anyone suggest any other accessories or quality of life purchases for the Ally X? I’m not a hardcore gamer, I used to play a lot but haven’t in a couple years since my Xbox was too old to run any new games. I also travel a lot for work.

Also any day one tweak suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Decided to stop waiting on a price drop and went all in on the Xbox Ally X. Here’s a list of everything I bought, did I miss anything key or are there things you all would recommend? Thanks in advance 🙏🏽
