Does his slime coat look ok/what is slightly transparent white film on him?
Hes been in quarantine for a week with ich since I got him from petsmart, but now im noticing this weird slime coat stuff and im unsure if its normal. (He is in the bowl for viewing only, then goes back in 10gal quarentine)

How old is this guy?
Ive named him Mr Pudge, he was marked as a lionhead goldfish and hes done really well his first day in the stock tank, though im now wondering how old he is. For size, he is around an inch or an inch and a half.

400gals of filtration per hour
Has heater and temp fluctuates between 73F(3AM) - 78F (5pm) every day but i can add a night cover for insulation if you guys think I need it
Already stocked with a small group of white cloud minnows, but they can be moved
Taking any and all suggestions!

Humming bird visited my pond on its first day today.
Set up my pond yesterday, and as I was adding the plants and decor today I was visited by this guy. He kept chirping at me for a few minutes and just chilled nearby or hovered around me before leaving. Was a pretty cool experience.

Can dojo loaches live with ranchus?
Im setting up a 100gal pond (300gal filtration) and im wondering if i could house dojo loaches with ranchu goldfish or should I choose between the two? Ive heard both success and horror stories and i just wanna know everyone's general opinion or if you have stories thats fine too. I have everything on the pond covered but the stock

My cooling pillow was making me oversleep
I didnt know this could happen, but i bought a long cooling body pillow from Walmart. Just one of those generic ones you know since I get hot flashes. Anyways, first "night" of sleep, I slept 17 hours from midnight to around 5 pm the next day. Thought nothing of it, sometimes I just have days where I sleep way too much after overworking. But then. It. Just. Kept. Happening. Even on my days where I had work I would oversleep my alarm and my roommate had to wake me up! Like, I was sleeping 12 hours a night or more on average and getting sleepy every time I touched the pillow? Anyways, I did sleep three nights without it.. and what do you know, my normal 6-8 hours reappeared. Anyways I just thought this was weird enough to share.
