What would be a reasonable price to pay for a good condition 186 CC tuba from the early 70s? Is $5,000 too much for a good playing horn?

I’m looking at buying a new horn for backup/travel and I’m stuck between a Yamaha 842 (no trigger) for just under 4,000, or spending a little more for a demo Shires Q41. I’ve played a Q41 years ago and I enjoyed it, and I’ve read some negatives on the 842, just wondering what others have experienced with these two horns on here. I used to play a 642 Neo and I prefer the 2960 I currently play.
