I’ve been contemplating this idea, and I’d love to hear your thoughts. Additionally, I’m wondering where would be the best place to post it?

Conn Euphonium

Does anyone know much about the Conn CU412 euphonium? I just started renting one for summer so I can audition for the college band. I want to find out as much as possible. Thanks.

Favorite Key to play Abblasen?

I was thinking of giving myself a fun tough project for the summer to get my euphonium skills back up. I'm a utility trombonist and will be playing a concert cycles on Euph this season.

Is the Abblasen a piece thats common for yall to play? I've been going thru Rochuts, Voxmans and Grigorievs to get my euph chops back! But a good piece of rep would be fun as well!

Do we need something better?

My daughter is a 6 year, 3 valve Baritone player moving on to college in the fall. She is considering taking part in a non graded program the University has, I guess you could consider it and equivalent to "club' level sports. She has the impression that she would need a 4 valve and that her instrument (Jupitor) is not a quality enough instrument. Is that the case? From my recollection of band, Jupitor is a decent mid level name. And if we should be upgrading what brand should I be looking at that is not ridiculously pricey considering this is going to be basically a voluntary, extra curricular program,. Thanks in advance.

Is the Flugelbone / Marching Trombone the right fit for me?

Hi, right now, I'm considering buying a used Flugelbone / Marching Trombone off a second-hand seller. I'm a big fan of it's sound, and as a euphonium player, am interested in its more brash tone and possibly easier range. Also, the portability and small form factor make it attractive for me, with it being easier to carry around and store in my college.

I'm mainly a soloist, but have been getting into doing jazz and pep/marching band lately. Do ya'll think it would be a good buy for me?

third valve stuck, looks like the metal scrapes in the little nook, help?

edit: [PROBLEM SOLVED] sorry it took a sec to turn, it’s hard to film with one hand lol

this is an old hand me down from my school, it’s a yamaha yep321 and it’s got plenty of imperfections. This one in particular seems to get stuck at only the notched area (i’ve twisted and turned it every which way before and there were not issues in the main part) How can I fix this?

Is there any different between a 4 valves Euphonium vs a 3 valves one?

I don't really have anything to add besides having to say sorry for my bad English.

I'm just curious about, y'know, a four valved euph because I play a three-valved one. Is there any benefit or so or are they just the same with one of them having four instead of three?

Marching Euphonium

Okay everybody, I’m a trombonist going into my sophomore year. We’re having to learn baritone or euphonium. I’m doing euphonium because I love euph, the boys(my friends I mean)play euph, and they needed volunteers. I love this thing. But I don’t know what I need to do to start preparing to march with it. Any tips? The video is to show me rn with the euph

Fundamental Practice Recommendations?

Hi!

I am preparing for my senior recital in college. I have 6 months to prepare, and I am planning on performing Harlequin on my recital, as this will by far be the most technically challenging piece on my recital, what fundamentals can I practice every day until the piece arrives that would set me up for success. I am also looking for things to add to my practice routine in general because my practice has gotten stale.

Thanks in advance!
