Rodellar is like a movie , from vultures on the peaks to mountain goats.
Did the via ferrata Espolon de la virgen (k3) then hiked 10km to the Saltador de las Lañas , where the water is perfect for a bath after the hike, the spot is just flawless for camp. The road to there takes you to the edge of the canyon passing abandoned pueblos like Otin.
You have mutiple route choices for return I walked towards the Dolmen de Losa Mora and Garganta Alta river then Garganta Baja for the loop to finish at the delfin and then back to Rodellar. Take note there is no drinking water in the canyon.
Took the classic circular route from the pueblo , easy hike. 400m of elevation or so and 7km. You can go here by train via zaragoza-miraflores (1h20m train ride , 16€ both ways). After the hike we ate at the Refugio de Riglos , food is fenomenal , the blue cheese pizza is top tier.
12th century castle
good 26km run from zaragoza to the trails of juslibol towards the castle of miranda. mostly city running , easy pace. hot weather. but fun.
Valea lui Stan is widely considered Romania's most spectacular canyon trail. Located in the Făgăraș Mountains near Lake Vidraru, this adventurous route challenges hikers with a thrilling series of vertical metal ladders, narrow catwalks, and exposed steel cables anchored directly into the steep limestone walls.
The trail follows a rushing mountain stream, guiding you through deep, narrow gorges and past stunning hidden waterfalls before looping back through peaceful alpine forests. It requires a good pair of high-traction boots, a solid head for heights, and careful footwork—especially during wet conditions when the rock faces and iron rungs become slick.
