Need Help Progressing to Mid/Late-Game Power Generation

Hello,

Right now I've hit my new wall: power...

I need some advice on mid to late-game power generation because I've never made it this far before.

At the moment, my base needs around 4000 kJ per cycle, and I want to keep my current power setup as a backup while building a proper long-term power plant.

My current power sources are:

  • 4 coal generators supplied by my hatch ranches.
  • 12 solar panels, but I'm getting really tired of cleaning meteor and slime meteor debris off them every single day. I also can't seem to build rockets capable of defending them properly because there are just too many meteors.
  • A few hydrogen generators running on the excess hydrogen from my SPOM.

That's basically it.

Now I really need to start using heavy machinery and other power-hungry equipment, but before I do anything else, I'd like to stabilize my power production.

I started looking up guides, but almost all of them eventually point to sour gas boilers. The problem is that they require Super Coolant, and I don't have access to that yet because I'd need more advanced rockets... which I can't build because I'm already running into power shortages. It feels like a vicious cycle

So my questions are:

  • Is it possible to build a good sour gas boiler without Super Coolant? if so, i really need a newbie guide..
  • If not, what is the usual progression for power before reaching that point?

I really don't want to give up again. My goal is finally to beat the game (build the Monument and reach the farthest star) and i feel im doing quite good.

For reference, these are the geysers and volcanoes I have on my starting asteroid:

  • 2 Gold Volcanoes
  • Chlorine Gas Vent 118.37 g/s
  • 2 Liquid Sulfur Geysers
  • Cool Salt Slush Geyser 1.14 kg/s
  • Water Geyser 2.59 kg/s
  • Polluted Oxygen Vent 100 g/s
  • Volcano 1.20 kg/s
  • Salt Water Geyser 2.79 kg/s
  • 2 Snow Geysers 1.32 kg/s and 2.86 kg/s
  • Natural Gas Geyser 82 g/s
  • Steam Vent 1.59 kg/s

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Is RimWorld Worth It for an ONI Player?

Hello,

I know it might not be the best place to ask this, but I'm looking into RimWorld, and I wanted honest feedback from ONI players.

I really love this game, even if I don't consider myself a professional or particularly knowledgeable. Still, when I played it, I didn't expect much, but I ended up loving it.

The thing with games like this is that you have to play for hours to really see whether they catch you or not. I can't just play the 2-hour Steam trial and decide if I want to keep the game. So, is RimWorld really worth it? What do you think of it if you've played it?

Also, bonus question: to enjoy RimWorld, do you necessarily need to play it with heavy mods like I see everyone on Ytb does?

Thanks

Smal question regarding Echoes of the eye dlc

Hi,

There's something I don't understand: when the Eye emitted the signal, the Watchers received it, got upset, and built the device that blocks the signal. Then, one of them opened it for a moment, which was enough for the Nomai to receive it.

My question is: why didn't the Nomai receive the first signal that the Watchers got, and only the one that was transmitted when it was opened again for just a moment?

Am I Ready for Space Yet? What Should My Next Goal Be? (SO Classic)

Hello,

This is my first ever time reaching this far, and from now on, for me, it's completely a mystery and a blackout. This save is in SO Classic mode, and I'm confused about whether I have to start going to other asteroids or not yet. I can't even tell if I'm "stable" or not, or if I should be.

Oxygen: Well, I have the SPOM Rodriguez thing (that should be sufficient for 30 dupes). I have 12 and will always have 12, and the rest either goes to suits or space.

Food: Well, I think my dupes, since day one, have spent 80% of the time eating the fried dirt sh*t, and from time to time they have some Frost Buns. Since I started my fully automated ranching, I get some meat from time to time for barbecue, but even with 32 hatches, I feel like I still can't rely on them to feed my 12 dupes.

Power: To be honest, that's the part I feel like I maybe need to reorganize. For now, it works! I have 4 automated coal generators (I don't feel like they're fully supported by the 4 hatch farms), plus 3 hydrogen generators for the excess hydrogen from the SPOM, only 1 natural gas generator (my geyser provides only 83 g/s), and 4 solar panels (not linked to the main base for now, but maybe they should be).

Materials: Normally, I should have access to everything currently, but maybe not in the best way. Plastic is running 24/7 because I have some tanks of refined fuel that I don't know what to do with for now. The glass forge not at all because I just needed some glass for lead suits, which I never ended up using. I don't know why, but atmo suits seem good enough even for space building/mining, metal refinery, oven, they are here when i need

What should I do now? This is the first time I've ever built a telescope, and I saw some asteroids and stuff, but should I rush building a rocket right now?

Some people start excavating the entire map or doing other things. Do I first need to stabilize the 4 previous points? Do I have the capabilities to do that right now?

Thanks for all your guidance and walkthroughs!

Climatisation split : installation obligatoire par un professionnel ?

Bonjour,

https://www.climaconvenienza.it/fr/collections/climatiseurs/products/climatizzatore-condizionatore-lg-inverter-serie-libero-12000-btu-w12ti-neu-r-32-classe-a-a

Merci 🙂

Butcher kit recommendation for Aid

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a good knife or small butcher kit for sheep/lamb processing during Eid (skinning + cutting).

I’m not looking for super professional or expensive equipment, just something reliable that does the job well and can last a few years with normal maintenance.

Any good recommendations for quality/price?

If you have specific models, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks
