Hot take probably, most overrated and underrated brawlers when it comes to skill

Massively overrated = nowhere near as a difficult as people say they are

Overrated = a decent amount of people think they are harder than they are

Underrated = often assumed to be brainless, but takes more than expected

Massively underrated = None of these brawlers are "no skill", infact they are some of the most skilled brawlers for each of their class

How Kung Fu Panda got me to Masters 2

I just got masters 2 for the first time, and this was the first time I tried pushing after I reached masters 1. I well tell you, the secret is your own path or atleast for me, even more so for "lesser" ranks.

Ash and Edgar were basically every single one of my wins, but the sensical brawlers, like Belle, Lumi or whatever broken buffieslop I picked, I tended to lose most times. So I just started only really picking the brawlers I was really good at, and it only really took 2 days with 2-3 hour plays sessions.

I was told that doing such things as ego or comfort picking would be punished, yet still got star player as Ash on open bounty maps against some of the biggest counters, like a masters 3 buzz or pro rank starr nova. I will say, some matches I was though (ill send if your curious) but overall much better than one would expect. Also no, im not going out of my way making bad drafts, im not picking Ash into Frank and Lumi for example.

When I got my first 3 masters I also did the same, stopped picking what guides recommended and only really picked Ash, and it worked a lot better. I know a lot of other people who just pick a select few and easily get there too.

So what does this mean? Well, its about picking what you are good with and what you are comfortable with. Everyone has different skills, and what is the "best" is not necessarily the best for everyone.

Some people are a lot more viable at picking a bunch a different things, and actually do very good with those guides, so don't be offended angry or concerned viewer, you also have your own path, and thankfully that path is already written down for you. Im writting this for the secret dragonwarriors who doubt/doubted their potential just like Po.

Why did I bring up Kung Fu Panda. Well if you watched and know about it you will releaize Shifu's biggest mistake and his biggest strength.

When training Tai Lung Shifu made Tai Lung into what he wanted him to be, not what Tai Lung necessarily wanted to be or what he was destined to be, and when Shifu's way didn't work he simply gave up on him, rather than trying to see how the Tai Lung could do it his own way, and that made him evil.

The Furious 5 and Tigress were originally trained to be like Shifu, a red Panda, but the only started really winning when they fought like what they were, aka tiger for Tigress, and that's how Shifu started training them.

Po only became the Dragon Warrior after being taught in a Poish way, such as dumplings for motivation and using his massive weight, not by fighting like a Red Panda. Po discovered this himself, he became the dragon warrior when he was himself.

So if you're a Tiger, fight like a tiger, if you are a snake, fight like a snake and ect...

You beat better players not by trying to be them, but rather yourself and your strengths.

Remember there is no secret ingredient, its just you - Po

Why was Brock not part of the emergency balance changes?

It's very obvious he is broken right now, not as annoying as Damian or surge were, but seeing no nerfs for him is for strange.

What if Damian's jump was removed just like Ollie's

Remeber Old Ollie hyper? It wasn't that different from Damian super, where a tank could freely jump in and get a very large and easy teamwipe with little counterplay, difference is that that's Damian's super naturally.

I think Damian super would be a lot more counterable and less braindead if it did not have the jump. Currently, the jump means there is no safe space to hide from him, Damian can also dodge any incoming cc that should have prevented him doing such a play.

Let's say it was a charge up instead, that means Damian can't blindly jump into 3 enemies especially against brawlers who should counter a dive in like Bibi. You can make it so he is immune to cc like Bull during his charge, but I would just make it so he is not so Bull remains unique and because the Damian player would need to think more, such as making a shorter dash to hit enemies at the end of the walls.

Also bonus point, Primo gets back some of his lost niche as the jumping tank.

What is the "tick in hotzone" for other gamemodes?

I would say Mandy for heist

Bo for gem grab

And unfortunately now I see some people picking Surge on knockout

Effectively a brawler often picked by new players who can get good looking stats but don't really work on the gamemode that once players get good.

Why is Ash skill but Bibi isn't?

I main both and I honestly don't really understand this. Yeah Bibi is faster but Ash has soo many things that make him really easy, yet almost everyone I see calls Bibi low or no skill and Ash as a skilled tank. Even Ash's gadget is less skill, Rotten Banana spam is even more brain dead than Vitamin Booster.

In my experience Bibi is a lot harder than Ash once the enemies start having brains.

10 Rats with human intelligence vs an Elephant

Takes place on a Savanaha in the Serengeti, not enclosed but the Elephant is placed close enough it can sense the Rats.

The only winning conditions are either the Elephant dies first or all 10 Rats die first.

Nothing is preventing the Rats from hiding and creating strategies during their entire lifespan after the fight begins.

If all Rats die from old age, the Elephant wins.

Which map do you think is better designed?

Honestly ive never seen anyone who likes both of these maps at the same time. I like Parallel Plays a lot and can't stand Bridge too far, but so many people hate Parallel plays because they can't work with their team and like playing solo, so a map like Bridge too far is perfect for them.

What do you think?

Are brawlers tanks?

True tanks = would be considered a tank in every game

Actual tanks = actually want to get hit inside of fights

Bulk tanks = have a lot of effective health

What skill do you believe to be most important for Brawl?

I was recommended this very interesting video, explaining what makes a game competitive or not.

Basically games have three skills

Micro -> this is your aiming and dodging skills effectively, things you do instantly

Meso -> this is your pyschological skill, in determining how others will react (enemies + allies)

Macro -> this is your game knowledge and drafting skill

For best advantage three types of cheats would exist

In a Micro game it's aimbot

In a Meso it would be hearing and seeing enemies and their communication

In a Macro it would be getting a very good coach

For me I think Brawl for vast majority of people Micro would be the most important skill, you need to know how to aim, dodge and use your abilities is most important for 99% of players.

I would much rather have a person who is x2 better at shooting and dodging than someone who is x2 better at drafting and informative. Also I would like someone who is better working with their team than a better drafter.

This is strange because how unbalanced the brawl meta is, because it doesn't matter if you are a pro rank Jessie, you are not killing Edgar. So one would assume macro is the best skill, but I don't think this is true.

If brawlstars was a balanced game, most matchups would be based upon how much you could outskill your opponents mainly in action, not draft. If you are a very good Mina, Pierce or whatever S-A tier brawler player you can easily work around even bad matchups currently.

You need to know, know how to draft who is not garbage, and make sure your team doesn't have a very easy weakspot, not necessarily much more than that.

In comparison a very heavy Macro game like Dota 2, one tricking will get you stuck in bronze equivalents, even the player with most games in dota is a (two trick) and is stuck in herald 3 (bronze 3). Im a Dota 2 player and almost have 4000 hours and highest I ever got was basically legendary 1 (Legend 5) so not even that good, but I will say Dota 2 draft and knowledge is so much more important than in brawl.

For brawl, when I started largely ignorning draft is how I got my first 3 masters, that being with Ash only. Draft does not carry Ash on bridge too far, micro skill does. In fact some brawl players one tricked entirely to pro rank, such as Patchy with Stu, and didn't one player do so with Hank? In Dota you would be mass reported and be stuck in herald hell for trying the same.

And finally hackers, lots of aimbot and dodge hackers have been a problem in high masters, picking brawlers such as bea. If brawl was truly a macro heavy game, it's very unlikely aimbot players would be in the top 1000 players.

PS: Im not saying draft or information is not important, im just saying micro and working with your team is more important

Small buff idea for Support Gus

With Gus the 2nd Gadget spawns ghost on hit, and 1st starpower makes them heal for 3200.

I think they either need a passive 50% increase pickup speed or radius, possibly both.

Sometimes even though Gus or teammates could have survived but the ghost is not picked up in time, especially with ping problems. I think faster pick up time would solve this issue.

I picked support build here because I thought it could make Damian work into the anti tanks, and we would have likely won this if he could actually pick them up.

Who would you last pick here?

I was confused who to pick here, and did a really dumb Ruffs pick to try to cancel out Crow and Najia but it failed bad. Im thinking maybe Gene might have been better but Crow stops the passive healing, and Gene cant handle snakes. Agro would be difficult cause you could never heal, so I don't think Mina or Leon could work. Who would you recommend?
