Should I get the offer to create a passkey in Proton when trying to log into a site like Amazon's that supports passkeys?

Should I get the offer to create a passkey in Proton when trying to log into a site like Amazon's that supports passkeys?

Free tier of Proton Pass. The background is: I am currently testing the product before committing to a subscription. My goal is to replace all services I currently use with Proton's, long-term.

Environment:

  • OS: Windows 10
  • Browser: Google Chrome
  • Proton Pass: Chrome plugin
  • The Proton database was created by importing all password information from LastPass.
  • (Not sure if I understand the storage of passkeys right; therefore, I add this additional information.) When I logged into Amazon in the past, I was offered to use my passkey, and that worked just fine. This past passkey was created while using Chrome on Windows 10 with the LastPass plugin. The offer to use the passkey stored on Google is new, following the switch from LastPass to Proton Pass.
  • https://proton.me/support/pass-use-passkeys tells me: "Proton Pass will prompt you to save the passkey through a pop-up in the top right of your screen. Click on Save passkey." No, it does not. No pop-up appears, neither in the top right nor anywhere else.
  • Windows 10 Settings -> Display -> Make Everything Bigger is set to 150%. (I only mention this as I experienced in some full-screen applications that this can throw off the correct placement of UI elements if the application is not programmed to consider this configuration setting.)

My question is: Should I get an offer to create a passkey (to be stored in Proton) when trying to log into a site that supports passkeys? Are the instructions at https://proton.me/support/pass-use-passkeys not up to date, maybe?

What currently happens: Amazon does not offer to create a new passkey when I try to log in. What does happen, though, is that Chrome displays the option to use a Google passkey. Is this automatic response maybe blocking the offer to create a new passkey for Proton Pass?

I am sorry if I seem confused, but that is what I am. ;)

Star Wars Genesis mod: Is there a "New Player Experience" team yet for Genesis?

If you have not tried the Genesis mod list yet, I would encourage you to do so. It might be something you like. (Info about the Genesis mod list for Starfield)

This question is about the "It is too hard in the first few hours" critique about Genesis, because I see where the critics might be coming from.

My question is: Is there some "New Player Experience" team for Genesis yet?

Sorry, I could not find anything about it by searching the internet and Genesis Discord. I might suck at finding obvious discussions. If you know of any, I would eat up any links you have.

The typical experience for a new Genesis player is (typical in the sense of "I have seen new players experience this a lot"):

(Please, I said "NEW" in the sense of "first-time, not experienced in Genesis"; I know both perspectives, so please try not to write GIT GUD comments - aren't we all trying to make Genesis better? Thinking about it ... actually, a very first comment of "git gud" might be funny in its own way. ;) But I digress.)

First, let us assume you raked in the "riches" from the first main mission, which pays more than six apples' worth.

  1. Fly anywhere. Get your (what is essentially a) shuttle blown apart by a gang of combat ships on arrival. A new player does not have the funds yet to afford any meaningful equipment.
  2. Learning from mistakes, fly where you are told to fly in the first space mission of the main story. (The "Listen to the comms relay at Venus" in the Starfield mission.) Do exactly what you were told on screen in Genesis (approach stealthily), and what you did in Starfield. Get blown up by a gang of combat ships, because the mechanics in Genesis work differently, and you are not level Gazillion in any spaceship skills yet.
  3. Not a problem, let's grind. Go anywhere on the starting planet, which is the lowest difficulty level you can go. Find no opponents in the wilds. "No" as in "zero". Find no objects to scan, so not even that is an option to make XP. So, go to a POI. Get one-shotted by one lowest-level bandit. Again, you still don't have funds to afford meaningful equipment, even after completing the first paying mission.
  4. OK, so get the default companion right at the start. Repeat any of the first three scenarios. Get one-shotted each time.

Genesis is currently in its early stages. I don't expect the team to optimize the game for newbie experience.

Still, I agree with the "Too hard" critics, as it is a problem that should be addressed at least in the mid-term. Maybe by establishing a "New Player Experience" team. Does some team like this exist yet?

As I said, I would be more than happy about any links to discussions you happen to remember.

Sorry, I forgot: Here are a few tips that might help if you get one-shotted by bunnies: Tips from the Genesis creator on how not to get one-shotted at the start.
