What is login.gov?
I was looking for a password in my ProtonPass database a few minutes ago, and this single entry stood out. It just has a title of login.gov and has a 2FA attached to it. I live in Norway, so WHY would I have that in my database?

Would love an option, similar to the password generator, to randomly generate a username.
To increase security, I've been going through site logins that use a username instead of a password and using a gamertag generator to randomize my usernames. First initial, last name is a security weakness.
I love some of the cool gamertags the generators have come up with for different logins, come on u/proton, help streamline this and keep it all within the Pass app!
Noticed that Proton Mail has been updated with Apple’s Liquid Glass UI.
Love Proton Pass and looking forward to having folders. The UI seems a lil dated though
Are we getting Liquid Glass anytime soon?
I’ve noticed that Proton Unlimited paid by ProtonPass ios app is much cheaper than other methods, cheaper even than the Summer Sale. Is this the usual unlimited proton subscription. Also I noticed that is not just for the first year.
One for anyone who knows people using iCloud's own version of Aliases - 'Hide My Email'
Hi,
I am trying to get a proton pass family subscription to my account where I have proton mail plus.
The payment went through but I got "More active addresses than available for selected plan" error message.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
Thank you
I enjoy proton pass and think its one of the best password manager apps right now. The lifetime purchase is not cheap at $199 and originally I thought it was only offered during certain promotional times (like Black Friday). But it seems its available at all times - at least right now.
So it just got me wondering, how is Proton able to offer this when most if not all other PM companies no longer offer a lifetime purchase? I probably wouldn't even consider buying it but it specifically says that you will have access to all future updates and improvements when you buy.
Has it been considered to include a verification of sorts, similar to what 1pass does, where you can include specific email addresses of the intended recipients?
Or maybe a password for the share link that the recipient must know to view the link?
I get that the link already has a view count & timeframe limiter, but I feel that the other two might be good additions for verification vs the link being “available” to anyone who you share it with that doesn’t have a proton account.
Just a thought.
This shouldn't be this difficult
I switched from LastPass to 1Password after their hack. It was great. 1 year later, my employer switched as well and we got a free family plan included as part of our work subscription. I pay for Proton Visionary and have Pass included.
I have been very pleased with how well Pass does. I love it for my email aliases. But I never have migrated fully from 1Password to Proton Pass because I got my wife to use 1Password and am nervous to have her learn a new tool.
Just curious what others do in a similar situation. If you have a free 1Password subscription through work, which one do you use for your personal life?
It would be very helpful if there was some indication that a password in Proton Pass had an associated passkey. Several times I have gone through entering User Name/Password then have a 2FA code emailed to find out I already had setup a passkey for that account. I think the best approach, if possible would be if the user could dictate a color for those listings with a passkey.
I’m a bit confused about the storage included with the Pass + SimpleLogin Lifetime plan.
The signup page still says it includes 6 GB total storage (1 GB Mail + 5 GB Drive), which is what I’m seeing when I go to purchase it.
However, I’ve seen several recent posts here saying Proton quietly changed it to 10 GB of shared storage across Mail, Drive, and Pass, and even saw comments saying Proton Support confirmed the change.
Is the website just outdated, or am I misunderstanding something? If I buy the Lifetime plan today, should I expect 6 GB or 10 GB?
Thanks!
Is it possible to have the Proton Authenticator icon in the same style as the other products?
It's driving me crazy.
Thank you!
My pass keys simply stopped working. I thought it was something on my phone, but after downloading an older version of the app, it started working normally again. Is this a bug?
I clicked on the Summer Sale banner to review it, then clicked out of it to think about whether I'd get enough value going from Pass to Unlimited and decided to, but when I logged back in and went to click back on the banner it just disappeared now I cannot figure out how to get back to the sale offer?
The support team said in a thread a few days ago this sale should be valid through July 7th.
Hey all, I recently started to use the alias service more and I love it. It integrates so well when using it with your own custom domain.
One question that I have always thought of though since using the service is 'does this need an alias'? So my question here is, at what point do you use an alias and when do you not use an alias?
For example: Should I be using an alias for my utility bill accounts, banking, PayPal etc?
Keen to hear what other people do!
Free tier of Proton Pass. The background is: I am currently testing the product before committing to a subscription. My goal is to replace all services I currently use with Proton's, long-term.
Environment:
My question is: Should I get an offer to create a passkey (to be stored in Proton) when trying to log into a site that supports passkeys? Are the instructions at https://proton.me/support/pass-use-passkeys not up to date, maybe?
What currently happens: Amazon does not offer to create a new passkey when I try to log in. What does happen, though, is that Chrome displays the option to use a Google passkey. Is this automatic response maybe blocking the offer to create a new passkey for Proton Pass?
I am sorry if I seem confused, but that is what I am. ;)
I have encountered a few instances of this recently. Epic Games gave the same issues.
Is it me or these websites or Pass?
The other day I went to pay for something online and noticed my card details were missing from proton pass. I had a look in deleted items and there it was, along with like 10 other various passwords, identities and login details. deleted last week.
Now, I live alone on a farm in the middle of nowhere so we can probably rule out a person gaining access to my pc. my phone requires faceID to unlock protonpass and also I just havent been anywhere in the last week (WFH life).
The only thing I can think of is that there was a bug that just randomly deleted items, or that someone gained access via network?
Anyway I'm asking here to see if anyone else has any randomly deleted items?
Dear all,
Those who have purchased the lifetime Proton Pass subscription, how much did you pay for it? It shows 199$ right now.
