I installed Brave on my work computer, and the initial display featured an ad for Cape. Do you believe this was aimed at me personally or at a broader group of privacy-oriented consumers?

Experiences

I wanted to explain why I moved to Cape. Before Cape, I relied on T-Mobile’s most expensive plan, which allowed annual upgrades with essentially free top-tier devices. Each year, however, a problem demanded about 20 hours of work during upgrade season. Recently, I needed to travel and wanted to unlock my phone for a second eSIM as I have done for years; I was told unlocking was no longer possible unless the device was paid off. The issue was that the phone was free, backed by a credit covering its full cost. I called to request a workaround and was assured that paying it off would keep the credit. Multiple representatives and managers confirmed this. When I paid off the free device, I received a text stating the credit would stop. I had been misled, though I noted I had asked four representatives to verify the claim; ultimately, the first was wrong and the next three repeated that error. I then asked about my bill if I ported out the line, and they said I would save roughly $45 a month.

I chose to port my single line to Cape. Starting service and porting my number felt simple and intuitive. I called T-Mobile. After checking my bill, I learned I had lost a promotion, so I would no longer save $45 a month and instead pay as if nothing had changed. I spoke with another representative and their managers, who acknowledged seeing the misinformation from eight people by then; for the inconvenience, I was offered a $20 monthly credit for a year, though they said the issues could not be fixed. This brought the total to ten people I had contacted. I called again and described the situation to an eleventh person, who transferred me to their manager, the twelfth person. They said none of this should have occurred and promised to try fixing it, but they would need a specialized team that I have yet to hear from. I ended up paying off devices costing thousands of dollars and moved my numbers to Cape. I spent 16 hours correcting the errors, as each person was more mistaken than the last.

The point is that Cape avoids headaches with paying off free phones, using a phone for travel or a second eSIM, or handling complex contracts and promotions that no one understands. Cape is simply easy to use, more secure, more private, and will save you days lost each year by avoiding the Big 3.

Currently, early adopters receive a $70/month plan; however, applying my referral code reduces the cost by $20/month, lowering it to $50/month.

Both parties receive a $20 monthly reduction on their bill for life.

Drive 3.0 is super fast

Thanks for making it fast; can we add more features now? Can we add back iOS integration and a search function?

Please update Lumo

Please revise Lumo so it supports security key MFA, since I cannot use it without time-based MFA. Also improve the app’s performance—reaching the main screen currently takes 30 seconds while it attempts login.

Please update extension

Please revise the browser extension to allow biometrics login and security key access. Right now, I cannot use it with any browser because it does not support MFA after I stopped using time-based codes.
