Thoughts on trailblazer's development as an individual after a journey through 5 planets + herta's(Peerless gem) space station
Personally I don't see it, hate to say it but TB is such a bland protagonist, they do have hype moments and aura at least, when it comes to everything else, idk, goals ?, motivations ?, relationships ?, Enemies/rivals ?, what efforts have they personally taking towards finding out their past and origins, I know they're self inserts but self inserts can be done right!
As an example, looking at the stellaron hunters, back in kafka's companion quest iirc and in the 3.8 story quest with firefly, they did something where we could refuse a request from a desperate kafka and ignoring a promise from a "dying" firefly, if you refuse kafka you miss out on the quest, similarly with firefly you miss out on some interactions and a fireworks scene, unfortunately this is an illusion of a choice and a false sense of developments, whichever option you pick, your relationship stays the same with both of them, people who dislike them and refuse them due to any reasons and people who like them and are interested in deepening the bond, both audiences are treated the same way by the characters afterwards
This is a failure as self insert character because you aren't even being inserted, you're just playing a soulless puppet, a better way to preserve immersion is to have firefly/kafka behave differently towards trailblazers that rejected/accepted their requests, that small detail would add much more depth to tb, the choices they make and the people around, whichever way you look at it, self insert or as their own character, TB sucks at both
Tldr: TB ain't done nothing but step back
