2011 MDX repairs

am I being stupid? my plan was to put maintenance cash into my old car so that my two boys could drive it during high school (which starts now).

I’ve had it 15.5 years. 125k miles. I’ve done all the maintenance at the dealer the entire time except for brakes once, batteries, and tires. my dealer usually gives me great discounts on labor so much that when I shipped repairs, the cost difference wasn’t that much.

I’ve changed timing belt, front and back advance shocks, replaced the airbag inflator, alternator. I just took it in for an oil change and standard inspections. it had an airbag warning again too. i had it there one year ago for an oil change and none of the below issues were there at the time.

front axel CV boots are leaking - replace $2k

brakes and rotors $1k

airbag retentioner $1k

power steering pump leak. replace $1.8

$6k all in. I know they are working in aftermarket parts and a decent reduction ($500+ labor discount) because I know these peoples so well. but still

i can see replacing brakes/rotors and airbag retentioner . but change power steering pump and front axel at the first sign of leaking? there are no current symptoms of issues that I can tell when driving.

the car still has a ton of life and I love it. am I on the downward slope and need to cut my losses? or I can do this and still have a great car for another 4 years.
