[Misc] Has skincare content made anyone else overthink their routine more?

Hi all, not asking for routine advice, more just wondering if anyone else has had this.

I’ve realised that a lot of skincare content makes me feel like I’m being “informed”, but half the time it just makes me second guess a routine that was probably fine.

One reel says focus on barrier repair, another says you need a certain retinoid, another says your SPF isn’t good enough etc. I’ll save things thinking they’ll be useful later, but when I go back I usually can’t tell if it was actual good advice or just a very convincing product push lol!

Do people here actually find skincare reels/TikToks useful long term? Or has the best thing for your skin been ignoring and cancelling out the noise and sticking to a boring routine? Thanks!

Do you actually go back to skincare reels you save?

just wondering if anyone else does this. I save skincare TikToks and Instagram reels all the time. SPF recs, retinoid tips, barrier repair stuff, dupes, moisturisers, all that. Then when I actually need something, I go back and half of it is either not sold here, weirdly expensive, or only available through some random site I don’t fully trust

Do you here actually keep track of skincare recommendations from TikTok/Insta, or do you just look again when you’re ready to buy?

Does saved skincare content actually help anyone?

I’m 31 and I’ve realised my saved skincare content is mostly just a guilt pile of many years of saving.

SPF comparisons, retinoid advice, barrier repair routines, “holy grail” products, dupes, anti-ageing tips. Either I forget or can’t remember what I was meant to take from them.

Do people here actually go back through saved skincare content and use it?

Or is the better answer just: stop saving so much and stick to a boring routine?

Do you actually go back to skincare reels you save?

Not asking for routine advice, just wondering if anyone else does this, on insta and tiktok I save loads of skincare reels, mostly SPF comparisons, retinol stuff, barrier repair, product dupes, “holy grail” products, etc. Then I basically never look at them again. Or if I do, I can’t remember why I saved it. Was it even advice or just someone selling something aha?

Do people here actually use saved reels/posts properly, or do they just pile up? has anyone found a way to keep track without creating another notes app mess?
