We must bring awareness to the corporation situation in trucking. A clear message needs to be sent that drivers should not be the ones getting targeted or labeled as personal service businesses when most companies are the ones setting up and requiring this system.

Right now, T4A slips show what drivers are paid, then drivers are expected to handle GST/HST, payroll deductions, and CPP from both sides while many companies avoid overtime, EI, CPP contributions, and other employer costs.

Most drivers are not tax experts they are just working under the system companies put in place. Either there should be proper rules requiring company drivers to be paid on payroll with fair wages, or enforcement should focus on the companies creating these arrangements instead of individual drivers trying to make a living.
