Is it in-character for Pellaeon to immediately seek to strike against the New Republic after Feena D'asta is dead? (Crimson Empire III Issue #5)

Asking since I don't know much about Pellaeon beyond the surface level lore of him settling for peace with the New Republic by the end of the Galactic Civil War

Do I need to read the Knight Errant book before reading the Knight Errant comics?

After having finished Crimson Empire III (my first thoughts is that it is a 5/10, might be lower or high on a reread), I have planned on reading more of the Star Wars comics (since they are much shorter to read than the books) and I want to do the Knight Errant one (the one that doesn't have "Deluge" or "Escape" as its subtitle). However, since there is also a Knight Errant book, do I need to read that before doing the comic?

Just got done with Crimson Empire II. Do I need to read some of the NJO stuff before moving on to Crimson Empire III?

Ask because the last time I asked about Crimson Empire on this subreddit, I was told that NJO happened between CE II and CE III and that CE III ends with the Empire being destroyed by the Vong. Because I haven't read NJO and want to be done with the Crimson Empire Trilogy, do I need to read NJO to understand the events that occur in Crimson Empire III?

By the way, my opinion on Crimson Empire II (so far) is that it is... okay. Just confused on how the New Republic was able to know what went on inside the Imperial Council since that is my main gripe with it.
