Help constructing a mid-late 14th century Dutch merchant's garb.
Hey everyone!
In mid September my wife and I will be going to a LARP in Enschede in the Netherlands (14.2 C average). It being my first time, I have to put my costume together.
I've a preference for something historically plausible at the very least, but due to time constraints with work-children-social life I can't do the independent research I would want to do. Hence my question:
What layers should I wear and is what I envisage accurate/plausible?
Underwear: Neutral/cream coloured Braies
Undershirt: A hip-height tunic
Legs: Hoses with feet
Feet: Some type of ankle boots
Overshirt: Cotehardie
Headwear: A hood with shoulder mantle, likely worn as a Chaperon
I will wear a waist-height leather belt with it, I presume over the Cotehardie
I intend to trust the words of whatever vendor I choose when it comes to the accuracy of the individual pieces and haven't settled on style and colout etc. I mostly need to know if I'm missing anything glaring buy any and all advice is more than welcome.
Thanks so much or listening to my rant!
