Does anyone have a higher resolution version of this map of a proposed "Adirondack Mountain National Park" from the 1960s?

National Monuments of the United States

Earlier we had a map of National Parks. Some commenters were curious why their local site wasn't included. The National Park service (along with several other US departments) also have national Monuments.

These tend to be smaller but still fantastic locations. Just ask around, and plenty of people will offer up which monument deserves full "National Park" status instead.

Unfortunately this map doesn't include the 9 national monuments added since 2023. For the full list, see here.

The Meter (Metre) was famously defined as (almost) exactly 1/10,000,000 the distance from the north pole to the equator. How did they settle on that fraction? Was there any debate for other fractions such as 1/100,000,000? Or different starts/ends such as 1/10,000,000 from the north to south poles?
