$1,299 – Private room + private bath in 3B/2B Santa Monica, Sept move-in, lease through June 2027
My plans changed, so I'm looking for someone to take over my spot. This is a proper lease takeover, you apply with the landlord and go on the lease as a tenant, not a sublet.
The room: Largest of the three bedrooms, with its own private attached bathroom and a walk-in closet. I'll leave the bed, desk, and other furniture in the photos at no cost if you want it (worth ~$500), so you can move in with just a suitcase.
The apartment: 3 bed / 2 bath with two student roommates who are staying through the end of the lease. Both clean, quiet, and easy to live with.
Location: Pico District, Santa Monica. About 30-40 min to Westwood on the Big Blue Bus (Rapid 12 / R7). Not a walk-to-campus spot, but that's why a room this size with a private bath is $1,299 instead of Westwood prices. Walkable to groceries, one block from SMC, short ride to the beach.
Numbers and dates: $1,299/mo, utilities/parking/amenity fees separate. Available September, lease runs through June 2027, so it lines up with the school year. Security deposit transfers directly.
Process: You apply with the landlord and get added to the lease once approved. You'll need proof of enrollment plus income or a parent guarantor.
