Saw the first at Costco the other day and knew it looked familiar!

Got this moisturizer from Trader Joe’s last year because it was marketed as “very gentle” and “non-irritating.” I never really loved it, so I ended up stashing it at my work desk to use occasionally. Recently I’ve been trying to learn more about skincare and ingredients so I can be more mindful of what I’m using and build a better routine that works for my sensitive skin.

Well I realized the other day why my skin doesn’t like this- it contains retinol! There’s no obvious disclosure for people who may not realize what they’re putting on their skin. It’s frustrating because ingredients like retinol can increase the risk of sun damage, yet it’s not made very clear and there’s no emphasis on the importance of SPF alongside it

I wish companies would add surprise SPF to products instead of retinol to promote sun safety, like how fluoride is added to our water for dental health

I have super dry, red and easily irritated skin. Most of DTs face serums (and a lot of their face products) have niacinamide which I think I’m particularly sensitive to and have been trying to repair some barrier damage for a little while.

It’s definitely more of a gel like consistency than other serums but feels great on the skin and soothes my redness :)

I’ve been to 5 different DTs in my area the past couple of weeks…but I couldn’t resist these cute little OPI sets! Got all this for the price of a single full sized OPI nail polish bottle.

It can’t decide if it’s curly, wavy or straight. Plenty of frizz.
I wish it would just pick a lane. What can I do to even out the texture?
