Not buying Tate dance clothes

I saw a clip from the podcast where they said Tate got a leotard and tutu from someone and wore it to dance and was so proud of it. Alex said everyone else in class always wears them, but Alex just hadn’t gotten around to buying them for Tate. Why? I can’t imagine sending my baby to a class where everyone is dressed appropriately except for her. How hard would it be to order her something? We know they are constantly spending money on themselves.

I feel like my mom love bombs my toddler

Ok technically this isn’t an in-law post, it’s about my own mother but that was the closest flair I could find…

We are on vacation with various family members including my parents. My mom loves my 12 month old and wants to spend lots of time with him which is great. But she can be really intense about it. Like all of her undivided attention is on him to the point where she sort of ignores everyone else. And also she won’t listen, like if I say not to give him a certain food, next thing I know she’s given it to him.

During this trip, my son has gotten to where he gets upset if my mom walks into a room and doesn’t immediately pick him up. It just feels really weird to me but maybe that’s not so abnormal? But then on top of that, I feel like my mom milks it. So sometimes she will busy herself with unnecessary things while he whines for her and it just feels like she enjoys that he’s so anxious to be with her.

Maybe I’m overthinking it, but I just really don’t like it. My mom and I have a complicated relationship and she has a way of making the family revolve around her and I’m not liking how it feels like she’s already getting my baby to be so focused on her too. Am
I crazy?

Learning Jungle Hope Valley

Just saw this on the NC Childcare Search. Sharing in case anyone has kids at Learning Jungle. Two pretty terrible incidents this month in two different rooms.

DAE’s 11 mo do this?

If I lie down on the floor, my baby will crawl over and basically attack me (in a laughing, playful way). But like grab my head, lay on top of me, sometimes try to bite me. It reminds me of something a puppy might do so I’m guessing it’s just some sort of animalistic instinct? It’s not a problem really, just curious if anyone else has this experience! Like as soon as I lie down he gets so excited and makes a beeline for my head. 😂
