Dealer quoted me 6k for a cracked flex pipe and timing cover gasket.

Hey all, I own a 2019 mustang ecoboost and took my car in this weekend for routine maintenance. During their inspection they found a cracked flex pipe and theyre wanting to replace the whole catalytic converter. I was quoted 3k for that. They also found an issue with the timing cover gasket thats causing a small oil leak. 2.5k for that. I am not looking to get this done at a dealer as I know they upcharge like crazy.

Looking for advice as Kelly bluebook has the car priced at 12-15k at my mileage (70k). Wondering if I can get the cat for free by bringing up federal emissions warranty. Emissions test is due in 2 months. What kind of savings would I be expecting if I took it to a local shop, for those that have had to deal with this? This was at a ted britt Ford in VA.

Thank you in advance!
