Do performance air filters like K&N and AEM really add noticeable horsepower or make your car louder like they claim? I’m considering one for my 2024 Mustang EcoBoost.

Are these the stock Calipers?

Good morning. I looked at a ton of photos and cannot tell if these calipers are just painted oem or aftermarket.

Car is a 2017 base model ecoboost. I was looking to replace the pads and rotors soon.

Both have plenty of life still and the car still stops great, but they are original to the car at 101k miles now.

There are some numbers on the calipers, but it didnt help me turn up anything. I won't get a chance to remove the wheels for a few weeks.

Thanks.

Best products to clean/restore/maintain seats in the premium

Got a 2020 eco boost premium, wondering how to keep the leather like material protected and clean but don’t want seat cover. Just looking for a product to use when I give the car an all around clean.

Just bought a 2018 Premium with 78k miles. What maintenance should I look at doing?

Also worth mention, I purchased an optional warranty that will cover it for the next 50k miles as this is the highest mileage vehicle I've had in a very long time and I don't trust it fully tbh. It drives very well though, only thing I've noticed is the suspension doesn't feel spectacular; not shocking (pun intended) at this mileage though.

I'm planning on taking it to the dealership to get a recall issue fixed (something to do with the backup camera?) and hoping they can do an inspection on it while it's at the dealership. I have no intention of getting any work done there, I know it will be way more expensive that way.

Is there anything in particular I should be looking at as far as maintenence goes?

I want a Mustang!!

Hi. I have been wanting a Mustang for years but raising kids, home ownership and family stuff had to come first. My kids are now out of the house and I am divorced.
I really want to know the best year to consider. I have a day to day vehicle that I love, but I really want a weekend car to enjoy and have fun in. I don’t need a bunch of mods, lots of speed or anything like that, I’m a gal that just wants to enjoy her Mustang. Maybe the better question is what should I stay away from due to historical problems etc
Any advice is appreciated. Also, I’m looking for used, not new. Thanks

Anyone have issues with the Ford pass app?

Ever since the premium Connectivity service expired this month, I've suddenly developed issues involving the app. Suddenly remote start stopped working. When I go into the app and check my vehicles location, it's wrong and says my car is at home, last place remote start worked.

Earlier this month, the first time this happened, the issues began. I had to disconnect the battery and then disable/enable the connectivity settings. The fix worked for around a week and now it's come back.

When I tried tapping on the Connectivity option in settings, it now says that the menu is unavailable.

I'm going to pull the fucking battery again and see if this works. I'll eventually get this into the dealership so they can shrug their shoulders and tell me there's nothing they can do.

Edit: from what I can guess at, I believe it's the modem.

Mod suggestions

Hi everyone, recently picked up a 2019 ecoboost performance package and i want to start putting a mod list together. I already have a few things i know i for sure want to do but i felt i should consult the community for advice to avoid damaging my car.

As of right now this is just my daily so i dont wanna go too crazy with mods, id like to be around that 300whp mark as i’ve heard going 350+ can pose risk of ecoboom. I know an upgraded intercooler is a must and im currently looking at the cvf street or race, i also do plan to swap out the exhaust and intake tube+filter while keeping the stock airbox for some extra noise. I dont know much about tuning for these cars and part of me is hesitant to do so because of the horror stories about blown engines but any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated!

Just to note the car is bone stock with 47k miles

Is it corny for me to get the dark horse spoiler?

I’m torn on whether or not to get a dark horse spoiler. I’m doing a lot of performance mods to my 2018 EcoBoost, and I’m needing a spoiler for it. I want the dark horse spoiler because it has the best down force. The issue is that I drive an EcoBoost. Should I stick with a GT500 spoiler, or do I get the dark horse wing?

Tips on finding/buying a specific car?

Hey y'all, after a (not my fault) accident that left my car totaled, I've been looking into getting a replacement car. After checking around, i got infected with the idea of getting a mustang. Long story short, Im trying to find a 2020 (prefered) to 2023 ecoboost, for under 23k, with less than 70k miles, within a days driving distance, in kona blue.

Wow, I didnt realize how rare it was to have one appear in my city, before I had the funds to buy it. I'm checking every used car site every few days, but struggling to find listings. I assume its partially due to my specifications and because of the season.

Ive left a bit out of the specifics im looking for, but listed the ones that i dont want to budge on. Anyone have tips on car hunting for someone picky? Is it just going to be waiting until the colder seasons?

Just got the car last Friday. is it normal to have a transmission fluid leak at 47,000 miles and oil seepage from the front cover? I had a purchase inspection done and they found those 2 things wrong with the car,its getting fixed with the warranty. Should I be worried? Everything else is fine.

Anyone here have a crazy commute? 80+ miles? How is your car doing?

Recently bought a 2020 ecoboost with 50k miles on it. Perfect service record. Was wondering how other people handle long commutes in this car

Found the problem

Replacing the engine block on my Mustang with the fortified version because my head gasket blew 3 months after having a mechanic change it for $3k in December, when removing the head gasket I found this little knick in between 3 and 4. Do you guys think that was there when he replaced it a few months ago and he just ignored it? My fingernail grabs in the spot it’s pretty deep. Everyone keeps telling me just sell it and get a new car but what do they know!!

Question

Hey everyone I was looking through my engine bay and noticed this small residue on my engine I’m assuming is an oil leak? Is this something to be concerned about?

Horrible Fuel Economy

I have a 2017 Ecoboost. I bought it new and I always averaged about 18-22MPG city and around 28-30MPG Highway. 95% of my commute is heavy stop and go metro traffic.

Over the past couple years, that's slowly degraded. I'm average at best 11-13MPG. I'm lucky to get 150-200 miles to a tank now days. My Highway MPG has average around 24-28MPG currently. I have a friend who has a GT and even in the city he gets 17+MPG.

I can't figure out why I'm getting such horrid fuel economy.

I have 93K miles

My air filters changed every 6 months.

Couple years back had an intake/throttle body cleaning done by dealer as part of scheduled maintenance. I do occasionally run it full throttle on highway to try and burn out any buildup.

Very adamant about oil changes every 3K miles (Vavoline)

All scheduled maintenance to the T by the dealership

I only use premium fuel

Had a tune up about 3 years ago. Recently had belts and plugs checked out. All came back perfect.

Ford replaced the EVAP Purge value after about 3 years of ownership due to it malfunctioning (I read this was a common issue). It went out again and I replaced it myself with the new revised part from ford. I haven't had any issues wth it since.

I also read about the dreadful "eco boom" issue with the original high pressure fuel sensor and read ford released a revised version so I ordered it from Ford and replaced it myself out of precaution.

I've never had any check engine lights. It runs and drives as smoothly as the day I bought it. No rough idles or performance issues.

Any ideas?
