Mustang Stalled, what should i do?
2021 Mustang EcoBoost randomly stalled while stopped in Drive
I have a 2021 Mustang EcoBoost with around 80k miles. Today while I was stopped in Drive, the car randomly shut off. The dash then told me to shift to Park to restart. I shifted into Park and it started right back up.
The battery was replaced about a week ago after it tested bad, so this wasn’t immediately after a battery change.
I’ve also been dealing with an intermittent vibration/rough idle for a while. It mainly happens when I’m stopped in Drive with my foot on the brake. RPM will sometimes drop to around 600, the car shakes/vibrates, then it goes back up around 800 and smooths out. It seems to happen more often with the AC on. It doesn’t really happen while I’m actually moving.
No check engine light and scans haven’t shown any active engine codes.
Has anyone had this happen with an EcoBoost? Could the rough idle/RPM drop and the stall be related? What would you check first?
update- this happened again the next day, after my engine had been warmed up. I have also had the purge valve replaced about six weeks ago, not sure if there’s anything to do with this.
