IUD pregnancy

IUD pregnancy

Alrighty, here it is. On the right, the white bar is my IUD in perfect position. On the left, the black blob is a pregnancy. What the hell?!? Right next to each other I’m so pissed

Should I get another copper IUD or what other birth control should I use? I totally thought this was bullet proof. Abstinence for life is calling my name right now I can’t lie

Positive Pregnancy with Copper IUD

Just tested positive this morning with a copper IUD I’ve had since 2022. I’m scared and sad. Has anyone dealt with this before? I think I’m 7 or 8 weeks.
I am unsure what I will do but either way do I have to get it out? Can I just go to planned parenthood? Can they do it there? How much danger am I in for the risk of it being ectopic. My appointment isn’t until next Monday

Lyme

Just got a call from the vet. My boy tested positive for Lyme on a 4dx test. Next step is retest. He hasn’t shown any symptoms. Has anyone been through this? I am worried, I’ve done my best for this boy. I guess I should’ve tried the bubble wrap.

How I trim nails

https://youtu.be/KS5derisqJM?si=uX1OjAwJVgmH9jxk

Here’s a video of how I dremel my bassets nails. I do this 1-2 x a week. I have another post about our journey to get to this point. I’m still learning my way around his nails and the dremel so any tips or advice is appreciated. Sometimes I will dremel flat on his nail bottom to push it back but I think we’re at the quick but I just don’t know so I didn’t this time. Just want to help others out and let it be known it’s possible to do it yourself! Find a good groomer to get your dog use to it. I never thought we would be here. This dog was 100% different two years ago.

Fuck goodwill

I’ve shopped goodwill for my entire life. They finally priced me out. I’m sure I can still do goodwill bins but that’s it. Storefronts are too expensive! I literally cannot afford to shop there anymore. Furniture they got for free priced over $100. Even furniture that’s locked without a key. Clothes all 6.99. Insane. They should all be ashamed. My days of shopping at goodwill are over.

The Long Road to Short Nails

Chewie is five this year. Nail care has been a rocky road. He would lose his mind and nearly break his own bones trying to escape nail trims as a puppy. I tried everything I could think of. I eventually caved, lost and sad my dog was this way. Vet recommended sedated nail trims. They couldn’t even trim his nails. We did that for probably a year. Horrible I felt so bad every time.

I eventually found a fantastic groomer who put a lot of work into being patient with him. She specialized in nail trims for dogs who hated them so she knew all of the tricks. We eventually learned clippers are a no go, Dremel is the way. I was taking him every 2 to 3 months. We had her for probably a year / year and half.

I moved went through a couple other groomers. I was taking him every 3 weeks and not a single person could get his nails shorter. Somehow… They would grow so quickly I felt like they were actually just getting longer between cuts and the groomers sometimes just seemed like they would speed through the trim and not get as much as they could. So I was spending $20 every three weeks for a trim that didn’t seem effective.

His behavior at the groomer improved 10 fold by this point. He was squirming or freaking out he would just stand there like a gentleman so I finally got my own dremel.

I now have been doing his own nails for about two months. I do them at least once a week if not multiple times a week. I have no idea what I’m doing but I’m learning.

If you had told me three years ago this is where I would be with Chewie’s nails I wouldn’t believe you. But I am and I am so proud of this dog. He’s come so far and I’m so grateful.

Keep your head up and keep trying if your dog gives you trouble with nails. Find a good groomer who can help you through the journey. The effort will pay off.

I’d love to see your dogs nails and hear your experiences!
