Early 90s Paramount Series 20

Can anyone tell me a little bit about what I found? A couple of days ago, I picked up this Schwinn-Paramount Series 20 with suntour components. Seems like I found another well-kept time capsule for 20 bucks! I I bought it as a parts bike, but after a quick clean and adjusted to check components, I realized it's so smooth and quiet. I have to keep it whole. "This is gonna be my new main bike for a while." 😅

Can we recommend actual budget bikes?

Put 4 miles on the $50 Marketplace find. Just cleaned, lubed, and tuned bike farmer style. Make em firm, go for a ride 👌 Needs a couple of small mods to be a comfy daily but, Honesty was more fun than my M2 Ridge and just as fun as my G.1

25$ riser bars

Are you even budget biking if you aren't trying out chinesium parts? 50mm Platt Riser Bars from the Bezo-Mart. The few laps around the neighborhood have been super comfortable. I'm excited to test em out on the 3 mile neighborhood trail.

Klein rescue.

Found an old klein fervor behind a shipping container at work. Asked about it, got a really nice story of the bikes family history then permission to take it home. Seemed to have been sitting dince approx 2018. So far, I got the chain broken free, and the new wheel set that spin true. New old tires and tpu tubes. Minor brake/derailleur adjustments, and it spins and rides smooth! Still working on replacing the cables and housing as well as formulating a plan for restoring the front fork.

New tires!

Asked a while back about tire recommendations, I finally decided and ordered a set of gravel king x1 in gum/pink. They arrived today, and I threw em on as soon as I could. Super stoked to ride the melon shredder ronight lol. Thanks to u/mcafe_mcgee for the recommendation!

Looking for tire recommendations.

Hi all. I'm looking to replace the tires on my old flatbar. The front is in okay shape, but the rear is visibly low on tread. My neighborhood route is about 3.25 miles long, with roughly 1 mile of pavement connecting the trail heads with a lot of mixed terrain. Mainly loose soil/gravel climbs and desends with long sections of hard pack soil. I find myself losing traction at speed around soft turns and climbs. I'd love to know what kind of terrains yall roll on and what kind of tires work for you guys. Thanks for your time.
