Another Kanye question lol but I find this conversation interesting. Kanye defo had the better verses on Watch The Throne but like said previously if Jay is writing it himself and Kanye has writers on it is it even a fair comparison? Cyhi wrote a lot of the songs on WTT
I think saying Kanye can’t rap is very harsh and inaccurate. However we can’t ignore that majority of Kanye’s lyrics are written (I’d say The College Dropout is one of the only albums were he wrote majority of the album himself). Can we still give Kanye credit as a rapper (not as an artist as we know he’s GOATED for that) if he doesn’t write all the raps?
When they both came out, I liked Yeezus way better. Yeezus seemed more thematic and represented Kanye’s mindset whilst TLOP to me was very fragmented with very weak bars on a lot of songs apart from a few (I like Kanye when he raps well Graduation/MBDTF etc and I don’t think he did that as much as I would’ve liked on the album). As time goes on, I still like Yeezus but don’t think it has aged as well as thought it would have. What do you guys think?
