Mossberg 500 vs 590

I have a shockwave right now and I love it so, naturally, im more drawn to the 590. Im very new to the shotgun community so I was wondering if there really is that big of a difference between the 500 and 590. Would like to hear your thoughts.

Stiff forend help

So I got the forend from shockwave technologies. I noticed that it gets kinda stiff as i get closer to the thicker part of the barrel. I know its because its the little knotches in the forend rub against the barrel. Just wanted to see if anybody has had the same problem and how they fixed it
