How NOT to shake your robot

Last week I decided to give a thorough clean to my little helper and I noticed a pebble was rattling inside. What is better than violently shaking it around without the battery lid to shake it off?

Instantly regretted it. It ripped 3 of the 4 PCB traces.

Don't worry, thanks to my background in electronics, I was able to fix it half decently and it's now working again! Buyacasha 😎

What a day...

We're back!

Apologies for the brief outage but it appears Reddit had locked my account for security reasons and this has the knock on effect to render the group private.

Everything should be back to normal now, but if you still have issues posting, just reach out to me and I'll fix it promptly. Cheers!

Damn, I just posted some links into my community to help other users...

OMG I was AI shadowbanned for the stupidest reason... I just posted some links into my community to help others navigate better the available deals and I got taken down for that? It's annoying...

FoxESS has officially launched their Elite Installer Programme in the UK. Given their massive growth recently, this is a move to standardize the quality of installations and give homeowners a bit more peace of mind.

What is the Elite Installer Programme?

It’s a certification scheme for installers who have completed formal, manufacturer-led training. Because these systems are becoming more complex, Fox is trying to ensure that the people fitting them actually know the nuances of the hardware and software.

Why should you care?

If your installer is "Elite Certified," they get a few perks that directly benefit you:

  • Direct Support: They have a "bat-phone" to FoxESS engineers, meaning if your system has a glitch, they can bypass general customer service.
  • Faster Updates: They get technical bulletins and product info before the general market.
  • Verified Status: They appear on the official FoxESS global installer map.

The Takeaway

If you are currently getting quotes for a FoxESS system (like the H1 or KH series), ask the company if they are part of the Elite Installer Programme. Before you sign a contract or pay a deposit, verify their certification. It’s a simple way to ensure you aren't just getting a generic sparky, but someone who has been vetted and trained specifically by the manufacturer.

Has anyone here gone through the new training yet, or had an "Elite" installer out to their property? Curious if the support turnaround is actually faster.
