What do you think Ilya and Shane are talking about on the drive back from Shane’s parents’ place?

What do you think Ilya and Shane are talking about on the drive back from Shane’s parents’ place?

Watched the show a bunch of times recently and I really wonder what Ilya and Shane’s conversation on that drive back would’ve been.

I haven’t read the books so I don’t know if there’s any details about that but I’d love to know if there are and also just what other loons think!!

My take- Shane saying how relieved and light he feels and how much he appreciates Ilya being there with him. Ilya making some straight faced jokes and just banter with little cutesy glances and free roaming hands! 🥰

Team belonging and future on the team question [Canada]

This is more of a career growth and future in this team/ org.

I’m newish on this hr team in a tech company and mostly remote. As someone with 14 years of experience across industries and despite having been a people manager a few years ago, I’ve been in exclusively IC roles for the last 6 years (2 of those years was mat leave). Reasons for that include being a new immigrant and at first taking any hr job I could find but ultimately landing in my domains of choice(albeit not at the seniority level I would’ve been had I stayed back in my home country)

Met my immediate team few days ago and came off feeling not great about where I am in the pecking order, not having the influence to move work decisions the way I would like and some off hand comments I overheard from my manager and their conversation with another leader about how non-influential the roles at my level are and when they were at that level they just wanted to get the hell out.

Not sure what to feel about it all and if I am lowballing myself with these roles and the money. I should easily be the head of a department by now and my experience matches or exceeds a lot of people I see who are in those roles.

It was also a long search for this role and I am grateful to be employed in this shitty job market. Just thought fellow hr peeps could weigh in on how to proceed. Thanks!!

TLDR- why do you think most women are so obsessed with the ‘book boyfriends’?

For context, I’m new to the whole romantasy genre and honestly started listening to some audio books after some similar content popped up on my instagram feed and all the obsession about ‘book boyfriends’ made me curious.

A thought that came to my mind recently that maybe this genre is so popular with most women is because these book boyfriends seem to be manically obsessed with the female leads, are so loving and dream like and generally ‘take care’ of her in more ways than one. They are almost too good to be true and are really tapping into this need of being cherished and dare I say, worshipped.

Few of us in real life get that from our partners and life happens and you’re in the daily grind wondering where the ‘spark’ went! But voila your book boyfriend is right there ready to go to any lengths just to make you happy 😜 I also dont know if it sets unreal standards for real partners if you start measuring them against these seemingly perfect imaginary guys.

I’d love to hear others takes on this too! Thanks for reading if you made it to the end! 🫶🏻

We are in Toronto, Canada and recently moved here from a different city. Baby girl turns 2 in about a month and we are wondering what to do for her 2nd birthday. Her first birthday was a family affair with a custom cake, balloon decor and gifts for her. We oredered takeout and did a photoshoot.

We have some family here and her cousin will also be 2 soon. Other than that we know only a handful of people and she’s too new at her daycare. The house is still a mess with moving boxes and most of our time is spent setting it up.

Looking for ideas of what we can do to celebrate her day and make it special. Maybe a park celebration since it will be warmer, or booking a play area. Not keen on a house party, suggestions and ideas welcome!! ♥️
