The Iron Blockade (Converted to Star Wars D6)

Hi all,

After encouragement from some folks, here is The Iron Blockade: A Source Book for Star Wars D6.

I appreciate all the input after my prior post (for version that is compatible with my Star Wars hack for Twilight 2000) which inspired this conversion.

I did my best to convert it from T2K to Star Wars, but I'm sure I missed some stuff. Also, T2K has several elements missing from Star Wars D6 (ammo, stress, radiation, hex-crawling, "shifts" for time, etc.). I tried to smooth those over as much as possible but GMs may need to make some calls on the fly (which is always best anyway). If you see something that doesn't make sense, let me know and I'll try to fix it.

One note, the more I have GM'd the looser I have gotten with NPC stats. So for many NPCs and creatures, I just provide what I think are the basics a GM will need. I often forego "pips" altogether. As always, take what you like and leave the rest.

Anyway, I hope folks enjoy it. I'll probably keep tinkering with it as I get time. As always, feedback for improvement is always appreciated.

Happy gaming!

The Iron Blockade (homebrew sourcebook for a SW campaign)

Hi all,

Star Wars D6 is probably my all-time favorite game (at least for fun at the table and memories made). I've used the D6 system to hack together a bunch of different games (The Matrix, Evil Dead, Buffy, and more).

I recently finished a draft of a Star Wars setting source book for The Iron Blockade, which follows events in the Anoat Sector (home to Bespin and Hoth) after the Battle of Endor. The system for the source book is Twilight Company: A (Completely Unnecessary) Star Wars Hack for Twilight 2000.

I'm sharing The Iron Blockade here because I think that even though the stat blocks are different, it has a lot of useful information for scenarios or a campaign in any system. I think translating the Twilight 2000 attributes and skills to D6 would be fairly easy to do on the fly. It can also be adjusted to fit into other periods in the Star Wars timeline.

Both Twilight Company and The Iron Blockade are still in draft form and I'll be working on editing, providing more image credits, and overall improvements. I'm always happy to receive feedback and try to improve things.

Thanks!

Hi everyone,

Thank you for the all the positive feedback for Twilight Company, A (Complete Unnecessary) Star Wars Hack for Twilight 2000.

Since my last post, I've made a number of significant changes to the document (mostly adding more content, pictures, and some light editing). If you're interested, you can find the most recent draft here.

Additions to this draft include clearer explanations for campaign frameworks, more Star Wars-specific gear, spacecraft and space rules, and several new context-specific tables for scrounging.

I also started to write Scenario Sites for Twilight Company, but like a lot of other things, it quickly got out of control. I had hoped to have a campaign supplement done by today (May 4th), but I just couldn't pull it off.

Regardless, there's enough in it that if anyone wanted to start a campaign, they could. I'll be finishing it up in the next week or so.

So if you'd like to try running Twilight Company in the time of the Iron Blockade in the Anoat Sector (just after the Battle of Endor), you can find the draft here.

The Iron Blockade supplement is heavily inspired by the short-lived mobile game Star Wars: Uprising (wait, don't leave!). I had started wanting to write a supplement about Operation: Cinder (that'll come), but the blockade provided a bit more structure. I also then found a number of assets, including some great concept art that adds a lot to the supplement.

The supplement explains what the Iron Blockade is, identifies important locations (including several planets in the Anoat Sector such as Hoth and Bespin), provides too many NPCs and factions, and currently has enough "Jobs" / missions to provide get a campaign started. It also includes optional maps for most encounters in the Jobs and the start of planet-specific encounter tables.

There's still a ton to do. Lots of editing and going through to credit images as much as possible is high on my list. Someday I hope to have them in a nice format.

Hopefully some folks find this fun and useful. I'm enjoying the project.
