Anyone have a demo of running a Sansamp Bass VT and Big Muff together?

I am planning on running a pretty barebones board for anything from a psych rock, stoner rock, and doom tone to black metal or synthy house stuff (probably add a synth pedal for that).

It seems like using the Big Muff Deluxe into the VT as my drive would provide plenty of versatility.

Anyone have demos running the two together? I haven't found much online.

Costs to repair AT-LP3XBT

Hi all,

I have a AT-LP3XBT that won't turn on after a move. I ordered a replacement power cord and inspected the mechanical components with no luck. I think the problem may be with the electronics/short.

Just trying to get a ballpark as far as service costs before I send it in to AT for repair. Shipping is $30 and the diagnostic fee is $30. I am unsure if it is even repairable. If that were the case the money could just go to an upgraded turntable.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Deciding between Schecter Model T Session vs Yamaha BB734a

Help me choose between P/J basses for my first "real" bass. I am currently running a lawsuit era Korean P Bass clone.

Both are a P/J configuration that are in the goldilocks bang for your buck zone, but oddly I was unable to find any threads comparing the two directly. Help me decide. My local stores have the Yamaha in stock, but the Schecter Model T is harder to find in person. Stilettos are in stock if the feel is in any way comparable.

Genres I play: Psych rock, Stoner rock, Stoner metal, Doom metal, house and electronic, blues, and some occasional funky stuff for R&B. Pedals would mostly be Fuzz and/or OD. I am not a performing musician, but would like a bass that can hold its own if I find the time to.

Basic Specs:

Model T Session
34" Scale
22 Frets
2 blend EQ
EMG P and J active pickups
Woodgrain Natural Satin body
Retail: $949
Used: $500-$600

BB734a
34" Scale
21 Frets
3 blend EQ
YGD Custom V7 Pickups with Active/Passive Switch
Convertible Stringing
The Indigo Blue color is amazing.
Retail: $899
Used: $600-800. Not many in Indigo on the market, which may be an indicator it isn't an instrument many people want to part with.

It seems like the Yamaha is the more versatile of the two as it has 3 blend EQ, active/passive switch, and convertible stringing. On the other hand the Schecter is a nice looking instrument. They both sound great from the demos I have seen.

Are the EMG pickups a major upgrade over the YGD V7 pickups on the Yammy?

Am I missing anything else?

Thanks for the input!

String gauge for mainly E standard and occasionally tuning to C standard

Just need a sanity check. Seems like a .45 - .105 is the way to go. Anyone have personal experience doing this?

Note: I will not buy another bass.
