Barovian Characters in Curse of Strahd

Hey all, I just started a campaign with two players who got pretty far into CoS before the GM disappeared and I agreed to them playing characters from Barovia. One is a Female Dusk Elf and the other is a Vistana who loves her. I was just wondering if you all did anything cool with some of the Barovian archetypes you've had (or maybe there was a cool idea that you wanted to do). Thanks!

Thoughts on 5e/5.5e

I am debating about running a game in the current iteration of Faerûn. What is the communities feeling of it or should I just default to my 3e/3.5e version?

Edit - Thanks for all your thoughts. I'm not concerned with the system, we are playing Pathfinder 2d. I'm concerned with the setting and lore.

Why I Will No Longer Run Marvel Multiverse for Free RPG Day or at Conventions

Yesterday was Free RPG Day and, as a professional GM, I love to build the hobby. I volunteered to run some games and received my copy of the module with excitement. But then I saw the link that I dread, the one that was a source of my frustration the last time I ran Multiverse at a convension. It said something along the lines of "For access to these characters, please go to marvel.com/rpg"

That is one of the worst sites, mainly because it is just trying to sell you more comics, and every time one of the manuals sends me there, I can never find what it is that is supposed to be there. Thankfully, I have all the stuff on Demiplane but exporting to a charactersheet is a new feature and even that made me want to claw my eyes out. The irony is that I know that someone created special characters for the world of this event, but now it is just too late.

Then you have the problem that Demiplane's character sheets do a poor job of explaining what the powers and traits do, and that is me being extremely charitable. This time around, I was able to share my content on Demiplane with everyone (and that is a premium feature that I pay for in order to market THEIR content). But that isn't the standard at most of these events that I run at because the norm is that there is no internet access.

Of the games that were run yesterday, I had my choice of about five to play. Next time I will run Root or Cosmere just to avoid the headache that I get because of the piss-poor planning of the Multiverse developers.
