Where are you transferring/transferred too?

South East Queensland Energex area

As has been discussed widely the new FIT with the atrocious increase in daily supply has me looking to take my business elsewhere.

I don't need power from the grid and I currently feed in 20kw during peak feed in time from the battery. This month I've put 400kw total into the grid including off peak 0 cent feed in. This is giving me about a $0.047/kw price. Certainly takes the shine off the $0.45 peak tariff.

From what I've researched there is no stand out, Amber is nothing special, Globird has had its day, the big retailers couldn't careless about a FIT.

So, where is the mass migration?

Or do I start a rebellion and open the main switch and just bite the bullet and pay their insufferable supply charge in case I need them one day and keep my excess solar from them?

Dialling in Profilarr

Have setup some download standards with Profilarr and have it going pretty well 95% of the time.

I have added some popular encoder groups but sometimes these are missed and for some reason I'm yet to work out it picks up a lesser quality or unknown download.

Interested in hearing what others have setup in Profilarr including how they've applied scoring. Feel free to add screenshots of what you've got to save yourself some typing and sliding them into a DM is always an option if you'd prefer.

Media server set up. Am I missing anything?

I've setup my mini pc with a NAS, I'm running Jellyfin/Whoopin for viewing. Have got Jellyseerr, Sonarr, Radarr, Prowlarr, Profilarr all being kept tidy with Cleanuparr. Have enabled Tailscale for external viewing.

Is there anything that I'm missing that would be worthwhile adding?

It is running 24/7 and I've looked at Home Assistant but so far I've tried the Sungrow integration and it hasn't impressed me along with a couple of other little things. I'm of the mindset that Home Assistant isn't for me.

Interested in seeing what others have found of value running a 24/7 home server.

TPG Cancellation process

Anyone aware of the cancellation process with TPG?

I set the date for the cancellation and the internet connection has dropped off on the day as expected. During the cancellation call they said it would actually take 24 to 48 hours to complete the cancellation.....

I got an email this morning,

Dear Customer,

The cancellation of your NBN service is now in progress.

The question is, do I get another email saying it's been completed? My new internet provider has emailed saying it's ready to go. But no internet here....

I think I'm in the position of waiting for TPG to disconnect their shit. I'm trying to avoid having to call their shitty call centre again so any input is appreciated.

Long time TPG sufferer

Been with TPG a while now. Not the worst, but the buffering finally got to me while trying to watch shows on my special firestick and decided to upgrade from the 50Mbps to the 500Mbps.

That's where the TPG fun and games always begin, when there is a change.

So.... upgrade goes through quickly, all done and dusted in a couple of hours. But not so much of an upgrade.....

Speeds have now dropped. Buffering is off the charts. Can barely stream on 2 TVs.

The usual TPG technical support, it's because you don't have our cheap modem and your $500 premium Asus modem can't handle the speeds. Then they try its your cable to the modem, your Cat 6A cable isn't capable.

All while they ignore the fact that all of this equipment could handle 50Mbps and now the upgraded 500Mbps service is providing 25 to 30Mbps.

Anyway, enough is enough.

Who are people using and recommending? Prices all seem to be in the same ballpark for the 500Mbps connection. I'm leaning towards Aussie Broadband, but open to suggestions.

Come at me with your recommendations
