I'm convinced 99% of complaint posts are from ppl who've never done AX before

Every year for the past almost decade was this crowded. Artist Alley was always this crowded, and South Hall was honestly more walkable this year than previous years. Entering the con has never been easier and faster (previous years it would legitimately take 3-5hrs just to ENTER from outside). They did a good job shutting down the entire section of road when previous years did little to nothing to prevent car and pedestrian accidents. The security did a great job keeping crowds moving and dividing the hallways for traffic.

Only complaints I agree with are the on-going lack of places to rest, the over-selling of badges, and ppl constantly getting yelled at for taking a breather, even in places that are completely out of the way. That and them moving 18+ to the basement resulting in crazy stagnant hot air and the basically halving artist alley.

Other than that, lines were long for events and big tickets panels, but they always are. Lines for booths moved fast more often than they didnt (remember 2023's horrible line issues in the exhibit hall).

Yes AX is corporate now, it has been for a decade at least. Idk why every year is new complaints about how AX doesn't feel cozy anymore when in reality it hasn't since before most of these posters were old enough to attend. It's the biggest anime convention in the western hemisphere and draws massive crowds from all over the globe, its going to be big, crowded, and impersonal. It's going to cater to big industries.

AX, like many things in life, is a case of fun my vary, and you get what you put into it. If you can tolerate heat, crowds, and waiting, it's a blast to attend. You can find anything you're looking for if you give it a chance. If you want a cozier feeling, try chatting with booth runners or artist alley sellers, more often than not they're huge enthusiasts also looking to gush about their interests. If you want to mingle with con goers attend some of the cosplay meet-ups or after-hours events where people are more open to friendly chatter and the hellish crowds associated with the main halls are gone. Lot of smaller panels also host open mic Q&As with basically no lines to get up and converse.

Basically, yes crowds suck and lines suck, but this is crowd and line con, it has been for years, and honestly it's immensely better than it was say 4-6 years ago. The runners *do* learn and improve on their crowd management in every consecutive year, believe me. AX is the biggest beast an anime fan will face without a passport, but if you can go with the flow it's still the funnest experience you can have, loaded with money or on a shoestring budget.

If I recieve an unactivated badge do I need to deal with any transfering on Leap or is it just something I scan?

Sorry if this sounds dumb but I have no history with this and a friend who lives across the country offered to give me his unactivated 4 day badge, but I'm not sure how it works

Im getting so fucking tired of bloat piece, man 😮‍💨

Im not even gonna finish the chapter. I'll just have to wait out the 2-4 months it'll take for us to get back into the story. So much useless shit right when we were finally getting some genuinely exciting plot morsels. Whyyyy do we need the backstory of a Celestial Dragon, that was introduced 5 seconds ago in-universe, to happen right in the middle of one of the most anticipated bouts in the entire series???

Oda fucking loves to kill hype and momentum I swear.

It's ridiculous that I can't afford a house just due to being born when I was

I live with my fiance in a normal 2 bed apartment in a normal town. I'm a sushi chef by trade working 11hr days at a very popular restaurant and she's a full time pharmacy tech working at a big chain pharmacy. Our rent is just under $2k/ month after utilities.

Together we bring home about $5.7k/ month. We talked to a relator today and discovered we qualify for precisely no homes in our town and a handful of genuinely run down "fixer up" mobile homes in a part of town notorious for break-ins and severely slow 911 response times. Every other house for sale in our town is over $500k. Homes that were in the 250k range just 6 years ago.

My parents bought a 3 bed 2 bath on half an acre in downtown for $180k 10 years ago on my dads single income of $70k/ year. My older sister bought a 3 bed 2 bath on a corner acre in downtown for $150k 7 years ago on a single income. Shes also a pharmacy tech and has been for years, her mortgage is less than my rent. My fiance and I earn more than her, and more than my parents, and qualify for nothing. We cannot afford to live in the town we were born in.

My parents tell me it's because "we don't work real jobs" like being a fucking SPECIALTY CHEF pulling 55hr weeks isn't a real a job. And completely ignoring the fact that my fiance works the same fucking job that my sister does and did when she bought heres ON HER OWN INCOME ALONE. Its so frustrating and ridiculous. What the fuck is a "real job"? Working 80hr weeks instead of 55 on a construction site?? Getting a degree and becoming some office worker or something?? Guess what, that doesn't fucking happen and people in those fields are also struggling either to get buy or find a job at all.

What the fuck happened?? Our jobs arent part time and both required genuinely schooling and traininf to get, yet we cant afford a home in this economy, hell we can barely afford to live. And the worst part is no one understands except other young adults in the same situation. Anytime I complain about this I just get lectured on how "were not working hard enough" from people who already own a house amd have locked in mortgages, like luck didn't play an extreme factor in their success. It's so fucked and it pisses me off so much. Theres no fucking solution either because the countries ran by corporations who only work to serve other corporations.

Im caught up to the manga now, but in my teens I tried watching One Piece 3 times, each time I watched from the beginning and each time I dropped it at different arcs.

My first drop happened I think at Skypiea which is crazy since it's now one of my favorites.

Second was Long Ring, reasons are obvious.

Third was much later about mid Dressrosa.

I wanna see whats a common "drop" point in the series just for fun.
