Gunil was still at fault. Yes, he was mad and it is valid to vent. But think of this in a business perspective. if he was a corporate employee who was found to be talking ill of his customers and coworkers, and his company found out, wouldn’t he receive consequences, including getting fired? this goes the same for him at JYPE. he was making rude remarks of his fans (custromers) and members (coworkers), behind their back to someone he barely even knew. a company would not forgive this.
moreover, he made rude remarks to fans by calling them a misogynistic term. i’m not concluding and saying he’s a misogynist, because there isn’t enough proof of that. he could just be mad and things can slip out, and one incident doesn’t determine his stance. after all, he was mad at the fact that he was getting stalked by sasaengs and receiving harsh criticism from fans after the inspire arena performance. It still doesn’t erase what he did though.
And we have no idea what he said about the members. Me personally, I don’t know how to feel because we don’t know much. I feel like at the end of the day he still did care about them. Arguments happen. However, I don’t think trashtalking to a third party should be happening no matter what, because communication in conflict is important, but, then again, we don’t really know what happened.

As for the ex, being upset is no reason to justify the fact that she leaked private conversations between the two of them. I’m not sure why she did that. Even if he said a misogynistic term, she could be mad, but leaking private conversations is a bit much.

A lot of people are mad at JYPE for removing him, and I do think this is valid. Xdinary Heroes have lost the most vital member of the band. He went to Berklee, and besides playing the drums, he wrote, composed, and produced a lot of the group’s music. And moreover, he is the group’s leader and only member that is fluent in English, which, for a band that would receive so much success in the west, is very important (they’d have more success here if jype could also promote them better). But also, sharing these private comments is a huge liability, and if he did it again, it could cause losses for the group. It is possible that he also broke the company’s rules in this process, and they had no choice but to fire him. JYPE takes pride in acting nice to fans (genuinely). Him acting rude is like disobeying this value.

Just like other villains, I also want him back. But I don’t think he ever will come back because of this. I scroll on Tiktok and people say that “all he did was vent to someone he barely knew!” but this is not an “all he did” thing. This is a big issue. If you are a celebrity, you can’t be caught making disparaging comments and just telling them to anybody. I don’t think sending protest trucks or gathering signatures will make a difference here. We can only hope that in the future, the other five will leave JYPE, regroup with Gunil, and continue to make music. For now, my guess is they will just hire a session drummer for performances, and variety show appearances will just have the remaining five.

As for people considering boycotts, please don’t. If we boycott, that will only hurt the group even more. Xdh’s fanbase isn’t that big, and if we boycott, it will probably lead them to greater risk of disbandment.
