Electrochemistry teacher!!
Which teacher's lecture i should prefer for electrochemistry
Which teacher's lecture i should prefer for electrochemistry
im a sophmore taking honors chemistry, its one of three of the weighted classes im taking this year along with AP calc ab and AP world history, and tbh i feel kind of behind compared to my friends who are taking 4 or 5+ weighted classes. because of this, i was wondering if i should just take the AP exam for chem without taking the class. i realize i would have to study for months and really prepare, but realistically is it possible? i just wanted some more opinions before i make a commitment to start studying!
So yesterday I had my first AP Chem quiz, I studied for it beforehand and I felt a little anxious for it. It’s timed, RIGHT when I clicked the begin button I started to have REALLY bad cramps in my stomach (I ended up checking out half into the school day) . But I didn’t know what to do and I’m still rlly mad at myself for not telling the teacher during the quiz. I ended up selecting random answers for almost all of them. I saw my grade today (Saturday) and got a 20 percent this is actually like a nightmare. Is it too late to tell the teacher and will she even believe me? Someone pls help.
I’ve never taken regular chem, and I’m jumping straight into AP. What do u guys suggest I use to study, including YouTube channels, websites, etc.?
my teacher is making us memorize 30+ polyatomic ions and 15+ acids. is this necessary for the ap test?????
AP Chem Prep & Real Exam Notes
Hi everyone, a few years ago I shared my personal study doc for AP Chem that got me a 5. Thousands of people have seen and used it since then (even someone from Nigeria has reached out to thank me), and I see a lot of people on this sub now asking about study resources, so I just wanted to share it again.
Within the doc are learning resources (the best youtube channels, in-depth lectures for every topic), online practice problems, exam advice, and (most valuably) my own personal set of notes, which I went back through right after I took the exam, and highlighted everything that actually appeared.
I firmly believe if you just stick to all the resources in this doc and study consistently throughout the year, you're guaranteed to pass, and will probably get a 5 at that. I know this because I know people personally who have done just that.
So please, if you're taking AP Chem (self-studying or taking the class in school--most AP Chem HS teachers are bad at teaching so you'll end up doing a lot of the studying yourself), USE THIS DOC, follow its advice, and stay consistent. I went from a 2-level to a 5-level from just locking in during one of the most stressful weeks of my life, so imagine how easy AP Chem can be with the discipline to work on this just a little every week.
I went way more in-depth about this in my original post, so check that out if you want: https://www.reddit.com/r/APChem/s/78yeVpYP3e
If you find this doc helpful, it's completely public (and obviously free), so please share it with your friends. Good luck studying! I promise you AP Chem isn't as hard as everyone makes it out to be.
Hello! I am taking AP Chem this year and it has been 2 years since I took basic-level chemistry in my sophomore year. To refresh my memory, I have been studying ahead of my class in Khan Academy. My teacher is notorious for not really teaching anything and my friends who have taken the course recommended Jeremy Krug's videos. I am currently on 1.5 and the content between the two seems to be a little different. I would prefer to stick to one source instead of rehashing the similar info twice. What would you guys recommend?
I am a 4.1 gpa student going into junior year. I have taken physical science and biology so far. I play soccer in the fall and golf in the spring. Is AP Chem a bad idea if I haven’t taken chemistry yet? Is physics a better choice? Post hs plan to go to 4 year to start with. Engineering/STEM/Business
Hi! I was hoping to get people's advice on something!
I’m a rising junior and want to go into pre-med after high school. My schedule just came out, and instead of the AP Physics C I forecasted for, they put me in AP Chemistry (alongside AP Bio and AP Calc AB).
I’m kind of torn on whether to ask my counselor to switch it back or just keep it:
• On one hand, AP Chem scares me because I got B’s both semesters in sophomore chem, whereas I got straight A’s in freshman physics.
• On the other hand, I know AP Bio + AP Chem together is a brutal workload, but I’ve heard AP Calc + AP Physics C is an even worse combo.
Since AP Chem and Bio fit pre-med so well, do you think this mistake is a blessing in disguise? Or should I try to switch back to Physics C?
Would love to know your thoughts if you have a quick second. Thank you so much!
I got a 5 on AP Chem, and over the past few months I built Simistry to create the interactive tools I wish I had when learning.
100+ interactive simulations, a full study guide, MCQ/FRQ practice, practice exams, and more!
12 simulations are completely free, no credit card or account required.
Check it out: https://simistry.app
Would love to hear what you think!
I have to make a quick decision (1 day) between chem or physics c and I can’t decide. I took honors physics and chem before and chem was hard for me and physics was easy. I’m super solid in math (easily got a 5 on Calc AB) but have heard that physics is harder. Chem just doesn’t click for me though. Which should I choose?
I think most teachers don't design their own test questions, or at least not all of them. Besides past ap exams, do you know where your guys AP chem teachers got their test questions from?
so my summer assignment for ap chem is to take a bunch of notes about topics my teacher gave us but idk where to find good notes. my teacher says we need “reliable sources” so pls give me some
I’ve been really worried about this and I feel like I’m not getting great input.
I haven’t taken a previous chem classes and I’m very worried about my GPA. But I’m interested in medical school and I feel like this class will help giving me a good understanding of what I may want to pursue.
I’m interested in trying Bio first them Chem, but I don’t want to be stressed in my last year with too hard of a class.
What do you guys think?
Thank you for reading.
Hope this helps students preparing for AP Exams in 2027. These resources include topic-wise study notes, AP-style MCQs & FRQs, detailed solutions, past-paper practice, flashcards, and online mock tests.
Most resources are arranged unit-wise/topic-wise, so you can use them to target weaker topics instead of only doing full-length practice tests.
Hope these help, and good luck with your AP exams!
i took ap chem last year and krug & farabaugh's videos helped me a lot in passing the class and exam. im talking ap calc bc this year, so does anybody know a calc bc equivalent of them to help me for this year?
Hi everyone! I wanted to ask if anyone can share a classroom code for AP Biology, AP Calculus BC, and AP Physics 2. I will self-study all these, and I want to get started before the semester starts. Also I would really appreciate it if you have any advice for juggling through all these and self-studying for these classes.
(Please be kind to me; I am too sensitive for criticism and going through a really hard time currently. If you have any useful advice, I would appreciate it a lot. Otherwise, please dont say anything :( )
This junior year, I'll be taking both AP Calculus BC and AP Chemistry at the same time. I'm quite anxious but also excited about these APs. But most importantly, I'm curious about what mistakes other students made in these classes that caused them to struggle and even receive a grade they didn't like. If you want, I'm also seeking advice and tips that will help other students and I strive in both these classes.
Please share your thoughts and experiences, thank you!
