Am I reading too much into my ‘straight’ friend’s behavior? M23

ive been friends with this guy for a few months, and somewhere along the way I started developing feelings for him. he identifies as straight, but there have been a lot of little things he’s said and done that make me question whether there could be something more going on.

we talk pretty often, especially on the phone/FaceTime, and we’ve gotten pretty close. The problem is I can’t tell whether some of his behavior is actually suggestive or if I’m just interpreting it that way because I like him.

for example, one time we were on FaceTime and he randomly showed me his bulge while talking about how big it was. It honestly seemed like he was looking for my reaction or wanted me to agree with him. obviously that stood out to me, but at the same time he talks about women regularly and has always said he’s completely straight.

there have been other moments too where his words or behavior feel kind of flirtatious, but nothing is ever direct enough for me to know for sure. It’s gotten to the point where I spend way too much time analyzing everything he says or does, and I feel like the ambiguity is giving him way too much power over my emotions.

do you guys think this sounds like a straight guy who’s just extremely comfortable with a male friend, or does it seem like there could actually be some curiosity/attraction there?
