I think this whole Grant thing is a distraction, it's point is to deceive the masses into attempting to go for the IGN "Grant" as a means of diversion while others go for valuable IGN's, don't fall into the trap.

I think we can safely estimate between 15,000 - 20,000+ Founders will be starting their journey on Maple Island tomorrow.
How did I come to this number?
Well... When you consider a baseline core of about 5,000 active users on Reddit forums and other social platforms, and then take into consideration the silent majority or "Lurker ratio" (the ratio implying that for every 1 person actively posting or liking a social media thread there are roughly 10 - 15 silent players who read news, watch YouTube videos etc...) we take our core baseline of 5,000 and multiply that by 10 (to be on the conservative side), giving us 50,000 highly interested players that would be aware of Founders Packs (EA).
....We then take the 50,000 and apply a 30-40% conversion rate (based on most polling, could be lower, could be higher, especially when you consider the recent announcements regarding Founders access) and that gives us a conservative (but realistic) estimate of between 15,000 - 22,500 people that will be purchasing EA and starting their journey tomorrow.
Now that's a whole lot of Grant variants running around on day one.... Many more than I think people realize will be playing day one.
Anyway, can't wait to play with everyone tomorrow. 😎
FYI: We all know Nexon is a shitty company, that's completely beside the point. This is in no way a defense of Nexon as a company or their predatory money grubbing.
This sub is a toxic sh*thole. Reddit itself is just a forum for the terminally miserable to circle-jerk over how unhappy they are about everything, from the constant whining about Nexon and their greed to the moral grandstanding... These people will be miserable no matter what Nexon does with the game.
If you're like me and you feel giddy and child-like excitement by the prospect of playing the Classic mushroom game again then just ignore the naysayers.
I for one can't wait to play with all the non-complainers here and just generally enjoy the game.

Long time MapleStory player, started playing around 2006, stopped in 2012, have played every couple years for a few months (on and off) since. Really keen to play Classic. Will be playing alongside my brother, wife, his wife and a couple friends of ours and would be cool to play with some other Kiwis or Aussies.
Transparency We will all be buying some level of the Founders package as we're all working adults in our 30+.
It's clear that despite all the gripe and hate the majority of you will still swipe for Daddy Nexon. Cope.

Some of you think the 11/10 is a date (basically confirming a November release), I don't necessarily think so and here's why;
This would steal significant attention from the release of Classic World and would essentially be a suicidal move for any game developer to make.
This Challenger World is set to be the best on record yet with plenty of content and also some really great perks, it makes no sense to release Classic World with the release of Challenger World 4 at the same time - Yes, Classic Players and Retail players are technically 2 different markets, but there is some crossover, meaning that a significant portion of the player base would have to choose between the two.
If I recall correctly (and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) there are some in-game items planned to be given out to both Classic and Retail players in either MapleCon (which is in November) or Maple Fest which is earlier (not sure on date?). You can't give away in-game items without the game being released.
Why I think launch is just around the corner
Inkwell and Nemi both placed significant emphasis on the fact that the game would be released "very soon".
Releasing the game within the next 2 weeks - 1 month would be a good business move as the hype is at its peak right now with the end of COT#2, there's sure to be plenty of people eager to start swiping and investing into Classic World which would help with the budget.
We've been told that Osyria and 3rd Job will not be available on launch, the rest of the game seems to be mostly polished and ready to be packaged and released to the public - 'bUt ThErE's StIlL bUgS", true, there's also a few changes that need to be made but given that they were able to make fixes so fast during COT#2 I don't see it taking very long to make those final adjustments (days? Maybe a week or two?).
Once again, the emphasis they placed on what they said can't be understated.
Here's my guess...
Classic World will release within the month, I have a strange feeling it may be within the week...

It feels freeing.
Long story short, I have a newborn at home (well, 9 week old) and she demands my attention most of the day, I got tired of logging in just to do dailies, weeklies, feeling obligated because of"FOMO" events (CW3, returning player).
By the looks of things this couldn't have come at a better time as Classic World seems imminent.
...At least with Classic World I won't feel the obligation to log in daily and I can actually play for fun in my down time (which isn't much these days).

Y'all obviously haven't played between 2005-2008, this was basically the meta at the time, you'd have to sit on chairs for 5 minutes at a time just to reset your HP and MP enough to then grind for another minute then rinse and repeat. Things didn't really pick up until you hit level 30-35. The grind was always painfully slow.
I wasn't lucky enough to get selected for either COT and it irks me that so many of the fortunate people who got in are complaining about the slow grind and lack of funding.... Bugs aside (it's a COT....), just enjoy the game, socialize and stop complaining.
Ngl, but I think I'm just over all this, it's been like 2 years since Awaken was released, and now we've been trolled into oblivion by a timer that was essentially useless?...
On top of that, judging by what I've heard of the song its not even been worth the wait (for me), I tend to gravitate more towards their melodic songs, I get the a lot of you like Saturate and that's fair to say but for me personally I don't really like a single song in that album, which is saying something because I like pretty much ever other song they've ever released in all of their other albums.
Just my opinions, if you get upset by that then idk...
For those of us that have extensive adult responsibilities (whether that be work, family or both) and won't have much time to play as the average neet and or sweat, I think we should make a group or guild.
I myself work 60-70 hours a week as a machine operator, I have one 4 year old daughter with whom I have part custody and a baby girl on the way in June with my wife, I will realistically only get a couple hours a day to play MapleStory Classic World and would like to find people that share in similar responsibilities so we can all join up.
I used to play MapleStory as a teenager, around 2006 was when I started (after playing gunbound for about a year). Some of my best memories as a teenager were going home and logging in and playing on my I/L Mage, I never got very far (about level 55) but had a blast. These days current MapleStory just doesn't hit the same, it feels cluttered, over-stimulating and the progression is all kinds of f*cked... It's far from the game I used to enjoy playing.
So who's keen?
