One roach

Recently the wife spotted this thing crawling in from the very poorly sealed back door. Immediately tore apart the house bath and kitchen looking for any evidence of roaches or droppings or skins and found none. Terminix was out this morning and the guy seemed knowledgeable. Said he found no evidence of an infestation or established population but that he also wouldn’t if it was the beginning stages. He said it appeared to be a German roach but that he didn’t necessarily see the two stripes on the head clearly ( the roach looked much lighter colored in person) So I’m doing glue traps and a spray treatment from them as he suggested. Our house is very clean as he noted and with no evidence of more is there more I should be doing? I have a kid on the way and don’t want to miss something and have a huge problem. Could this just be a wood roach from outside or am I screwed? No horror stories just advice please already worried enough.

New fill Advice

Purchased a new house that came with a one year old hot tub. I’m on a well and filled with no softener. I filled and purged the tub then cleaned and refilled and am having trouble getting my water to test safe. My total alkalinity and PH are pinned high and I’m like a pound plus of dry acid in over the last few days. Because of this no matter how much chlorine I add my free chlorine never stays above zero for longer than an hour or so. Has anyone encountered this and has advice?

Lifeproof flooring

I’m getting ready to put Down lifeproof flooring in my basement renovation. I’ve spent countless hours messing with floor leveler in the lowest spots of high traffic area and even more hours with grinders and dust. I’m at the point I still have some low spots about 1/4-1/2in in low traffic areas for the most part (around closets and edges of walls etc) and some 1/16 ridges along the edges of some of the leveler pours. I am beyond over this knowing how many people never even check their subfloor to begin with and my wife is over having an unfinished project. Has anyone had any experience with saying fuck it to these variations? I’m putting down the thickest designer series Lifeproof with their Lifeproof brand padded underlayment.

Any recommendations on this horrible upside F cut I’m going to have to make? Going to be difficult to keep from breaking on the saw. Layout was seemingly unavoidable. It was this or having slivers on both sides.
