Day-before drinks with the girls

For context; we’re having a 30 person, family only microwedding. We’re both second time arounders, and we’ve decided our financial priorities are elsewhere! Our friends understand this, of course.

Having said that, I would love to have an afternoon champagne with about 5 or 6 of my closest girlfriends. These are ones I’ve gone to high school with (I’m 50 now), or have known 20years+.

I thought that I’d invite them to the hotel room I’ll be getting ready from the next morning, just for an hour and a half for champagne (my shout). I have a welcome dinner from 6pm, so I’ll have to get to that as most of our family are travelling from interstate.

Is that weird? I don’t want a gift, just a quiet time with the girls I love!

Over the planning… what little I have to do!

we’re having a 27 person micro wedding in October, and today I have just hit the wall over the dumbest things! I keep wasting time, money and emotional energy in planning table decorations.

It’s honestly only going to be 4 clusters of arrangements and I had originally wanted dried. Now I’ve changed my bouquet, hired ceremony flowers (artificial but they look beautiful), and now my reception flower vibe is different.

I’m conceding defeat and going with a florist for the tables! But this after spending money on glass vases, dried flowers, candles, table runners etc etc. it’s a few hundred I’ve wasted but I’m seriously not prepared to DIY this stuff anymore, lol.

Anyone else get sick of the small stuff?!

Tailoring solution or bra?

So my dress has come in, and I’ve tried it on to get a sense of what alterations I’ll need in August (wedding October). I’ve lost almost 12kg (26lb) since I purchased it, and was pretty excited to see how my back/ waist look (even though the size they ordered in is still a size too big).

The bridal store owner is pulling the dress around and telling me that with alterations, the tailor will stiffen the corset area a little, but I’ve realised I may not feel the girls are as ‘lifted’ as I originally looked due to the weight loss.

Will adding structure likely fix this, or will it need a bra or sorts?
